hey dude ive got a 85 jetta wolfsburg as well. mine is a turbo diesel. i was wonderin what engine you are guna put in that shell. im lookin to do a vr6 conversion. im trying to find out if its possible. heres a vid of my car. watch?v=CHVO0OxjLSQ
@b2dmastersniper well for now im just putting a 1992 jetta 1.8 engine it in, but when i get enough money, im putting a 1.8 turbo from a 2004 jetta, and im chipping it and doing a bunch of other mods, my dad has a 2001 jetta 1.8 T with 270 hp, thats why i wanna do it. If i were you id do the 1.8T conversion its cheaper, and the engine weighs less than a VR6, so it will handle a lot better. but i will check out your vid!
@b2dmastersniper oh and also, it is possible to do a vr6 conversion, or 1.8T engine conversion, but you'll have to take out all the fuel lines and replace them , replace the gas tank itself, its a big pain and takes a lot of work, but its possible.
@StreetSkater456 i like ur idea for the 1.8. 270hp would be ALOT of power for a car thats as small as ours. but i take it thats after a couple thousand in a turbo and chips and other mods. what do u think the overall cost for a tranny , 1.8, turboed and chipd would be. (including parts to make sure it doesnt blow up) :) would be?
well i dont know for sure, but a couple hundred for the tranny, depending on where you get it from. a chip can cost anywhere from 250-800 dollars, and the turbo could be 500-1000, so youre looking at around 1,500 - 2,000 dollars. you could go to wwwcopartcom, and search VW golf, jetta, ect 2000-2004, and you can find full cars with damage, for really cheap, with working engines and stuff, bids can start at 35 dollars.

Is the "Wolfsburg Edition" a trim, or is it where the car's from (Wolfsburg plant)?
