Then figure into the equation the freedom to make bad choices...and the freedom to make good choices. Do you know what causes depression?Do you understand why it can drive people to kill themselves? It usually has very little to do with tragedy or hardship in their lives, everybody has tradgedy and hardship in their lives. Usually the cause is faulty brain chemistry, depression is a mental illness that can leave sufferers unable to cope with normal life. Fear should not be the basis of belief. You shouldn't pray to a false god just because you are afraid of terrible pain in Hell. To be honest, it is terrifying to think that I could feel pain for all eternity in Hell for being a skeptic of religion. Living a good life should be good enough to get into heaven if there is such a thing. If God will send me to Hell for all eternity just for not wholeheartedly believing in him then he is not a God worth praying to anyway.
