  • This has been fantastic! so detailed, I have made 2 hats now and I get so excited when I can see what I am making on the first try is how its supposed to come out. Thank you so much!

  • Hi :) I was wondering if its possible to make a flat version of this, like a rectrangle with the same pattern?if so can u make a video of it pleasee. btw thanks for the video!

  • I am originally from India and living in the UK for last 20 years. When I was young I learned basic crochet from my mum who is GENIUS at crochet and knitting. I always regretted that I didn't learn enough. But there comes you, holding my hand and teaching me everything step by step through your videos. I am so grateful to you. You have inspired me very much. I am now promoting this craft to younger generation as it is a form of art which is therapeutic as well as relaxing. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • @Urvasi163 It is very therapeutic in many ways. I appreciate your generous words.

  • soy de argentina y no entiendo ingles pero si se como haces señora gracias

  • I finally know how to work the foundation stitch! It's a miracle! Thank you so much =D

    Yay! I'm so excited! Haha.

  • @xoxoalex310oxox You are welcome

  • What's the multiple for this pattern?

  • @iElliie Rows are where you will find a multiple. Projects like hats with rounds can have several multiples but they are only going to be applicable to an increase round. Each increase round is going to be different. For example, if you need to increase every 4 stitches, you would work 3 individual stitches, and work 2 in the next stitch. This would make the multiple 4, for that specific round. With rows, the multiple will be the same because you are not increasing.

  • @iElliie You will find a link to the written instructions in the video details below the video

  • @tjw1963 I get it now... what I'm having difficulties with, finishing off the round. I pull up but it seems to get pulled back down to the base, its up not being even.

  • i love this video.....but i have one question do you work a continual round for the band or do you join in each round????:O

  • @96Tiara For this project I joined. You can work the continual round if you prefer

  • achei muito lindo querida ,,,vou faer agora mesmo....bjs

  • @fatoooomm1 allah allah!!!

  • I'm not a beginner crocheter. But I'm not advanced either. I'm semi self taught with only books and sprinkling of craft videos on DIY network. I have never seen or heard if this stitch and am fascinated by it! I love it's open airy lacy pattern and quick workup. It's delicate and eye catching.

I also have to say I LOVE your videos. Found them by accident and I am now addicted to them. I have paid upwards of $20+ for some crochet books that left me more confused than I started until I "figured

  • i didnt know there was another way to hold it besides this way, i guess its just what your hand feels comfortable with or how you got used to but great video either way!! im gonna have a baby in may and i want to start making her little crocheted goodies!!

  • What size hat would this be and how would you measure for a child sized hat?

  • @iidowneiichickii This is an adult size crochet hat. The easiest way to make a hat smaller is to use a smaller crochet hook. You can also modify to make a smaller hat by doing less increase rounds and stitches.

  • Made a hat like this.Turned out great! Thank you!

  • @SocoBrianna You are welcome!

  • uhhh...i heared of people holding the hook linke this but i thought those would be like an urban legend but they really exist...damn

  • @Donnavis I have been holding my hook like this for going on 30 years. I have heard from quite a few people who hold their hook like I do.

  • @Donnavis That's actually the technically correct way to hold the hook. I hold it like a knitting needle because I learned knitting first and I was never told that it really mattered how you held the hook. I can hold it either way now that I have practiced some more, and you can really hold it however is more comfortable for you. This method has better tension control for the shape of a crochet stitch, but that's easily adjustable.

  • thank you! you have the best vids!:) i appreciate you! and your vids,Just started crocheting

  • @pinklilwat Thank you. I have a playlist with the basic crochet stitches. Let me know if you need help finding it.

  • is it okay if i did a foundation half double crochet ?

  • @xCuttie Yes you can work the foundation stitch.

  • this pattern is great!i made 1 for my daughter.

  • that looks hard and time consuming :S

  • I love this.... i made one of my own and it came out nice...thank you

  • hi i started crocheting with the magazine art of crotchet an i love it i see that ur hooks are different we are numbered an we dont have handles but that looks moe controllable the one ur using

  • Thank you, I appreciate it!

  • no seriously thank you i've been making hats for everyone now lol

  • @tjw1963 wow looove the hat.. i love hats :) i wish u were near me lol i'd buy severals

  • Hi Teresa, I just wanted you to know I went to click the "play" arrow on the video and my finger slipped and clicked on the stars. Two stars more specifically - which is NOT what I would have rated your vid. SO sorry! It won't let me re-do it. Also, my daughter had what I thought was a good suggestion. She said if you sewed small buttons on the inside of the cover you could button them through the underneath cap to hold the cover in place. Then you could have multiple interchangable covers.

  • It is alright about the rating. I am not able to see who rates.

Your daughter had a great idea! Thank you for sharing it.

  • very nice, keep up the good work.

  • That;s a new idea, it's the first time I've seen somebody use a pencil grip on thier hook! Great idea!

  • i just wanted to know ...do we have to sew the cover on?

  • You can do whatever you want with it. I sew the cover on so it will stay in place to keep it from shifting.

  • beautiful work!

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks for your teaching, these hats and cover are so easy I made 2 of them already good for xmas gifts. Keep teaching us.

  • Can you do a small one for a baby

  • one question. do we have to sew the cover to the hat or could we just slip it on

  • There are many ways that it could be attached. You can pick the way you like the best.

  • thank you for you're tutorial by the way and at school, my teachers admired all the hats i made from your tutorials.

  • Thanks for posting such a beautiful pattern. I completed a HDC hat with brim today & started to make a cover but the cover foundation (60 SC) looks little smaller than the hat when measured. The hat with brim perfectly fits my head. Is the cover bigger, comparing to the hat? so how many more SC should i make to make it perfect?

  • I made the cover to go over the hat. It may be possible that you crocheted your cover tighter. You can try a larger crochet hook which may help give you the right size for your cover.

  • Thank you so much.. Im using a bigger crochet hook. Its perfect now :) Thanks again!

  • I am glad that worked for you.

  • Luv this pattern, I'm making this to wear on it's own.

  • i am trying to make this cover but its so hard i keep doing mistakes

  • was 1963 when you were born?

  • I thought I would look up crochet patterns. Your tutorials are awesome. Thanks for taking the time to post them. I have been crocheting since I was eleven and taught myself to crochet hats, socks and blankets. recently over the last 4 years been trying to make sweaters and dresses. I have macular degeneration so reading books just doesn't do it for me. so thanks again, I now have more ideas with this video. cheers!

  • I appreciate the comment. Happy crocheting. :)

  • Thank you for this video. It would make a nice hat on its own. Cool.

Instead of a hat pattern like this, how could you use this idea for a blanket or scarf? How would you do the sides so they would be straight?

I found this when I was looking for something else too. Im looking for a chainmail pattern. Do you know of a good one I could use?

Thank you again. I love your videos.

  • Im sorry. It should say in my post, Im also looking for a "crochet" chainmail pattern?? I hope I didn't confuse you with my question.

Thanks again. Have a nice day.

  • I'm sorry but I am not familiar with a chainmail. I do have two tutorials that show the knot stitch in rows with a straight edge.

  • Wow I am making this to wear on it's own, great pattern for the summer, I've been looking for something like this for a summer hat, looks similar to the fishnet hat pattern that I have been searching all over for. Thanks

  • You are welcome.

  • Hi, Your video is so helpful.

I am big fan of your work!!!

I would like to beach bag with mesh stitch for summer.

Could you make a video for mesh stitch?

  • Thank you for the comment.

  • how do you read crochet patterns? they are so confusing for me even if the projects are very simple. i would like to be able to crochet other stuffs but i can't seem to understand the patterns.please help. tnx!!!!

  • It is important to learn what the abbreviations and other terminology mean. I will send you a link in YT mail to my crochet blog abbreviations.

  • what do you do with all of projects that you make?

  • Right now I still have a lot of them. I have given away a lot of hats through giveaways on my crochet blog.

  • Hola Teresa

thank you very much for share your beutifull proyects. I love this one, too.

  • You are welcome. :)

  • Thanx for the sweet videos! I love them I'v learned so much. I have even started to create my own stuff. You have inspired me and now all my friends and family are jelous. THANX AGAIN!!!!!! :)

  • You are welcome. I appreciate the comment. :)

  • Thank you soooo much for your lessons!

I'm from Brazil and you manage to teach in such a simple and easy way, that I can understand everything (even if it's in english...)!!!

Do you have any tips to make all the knots the same size? Because they end up being each one a different size... Thanks!

  • Practice will help. They don't have to be perfect.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for this. You've really made my day! I can't wait to get started on this!!

    ~Kelly

  • You are welcome. :)
