Spark is not an issue to check right now. Check spark when engine is turning over but not starting. You have an electrical issue unrelated to spark fire.
When you switched the solenoids, I saw you moving the wire on solenoid post. Make sure those nuts are tight on posts. If it still clicks after tightened, keep battery jumpers hooked to battery and the try to jump your soleniod. Take a screw driver or tool and use it to touch hot and ground posts on solenoid. Make sure ignition switch is on and kill switch isnt activated. If internal components are bad on solenoid, it can be bypassed by jumping the posts. If it turns over, replace solenoid.
you did have spark and now you don't or you had it running and now it won't? you said you got spark was that with CDI black/white wire in or out? Also be sure your getting fuel flow. Was plug wet when u pulled out? on bottom of carb unscrew screw a bit to see if you get fuel draining. Since its an older ATV you may want to clean the carb jets, there are a few vids on here that will show you how. Sparking then quitting could be CDI or coil. you can get a CDI for 8 bucks. motopartsmax(dot)com
Hope u got fixed. Sounds like ur going about it wrong. Chinese ATV's need 3 thing, spark, fuel and air. the spark is done 2 ways ignition and starter. So lets check spark first. take spark plug and lay on side of engine, try n start see if any spark. If not unplug your CDI on the harness plug should be five wires in take jewelers screwdriver and pop out Black/white wire, then plug CDI in see if sparks. Spark means kill switch issue. no spark could be Battery, CDI, Coil or Stator. give update.
@lynnw197@lynnw197 Sorry I never saw that comment. Well I DID have spark but now the things cant even turn over once in about 2-4 seconds. It acts like the compression is 5x what it should be but I checked it and its in the green for that cc. But I took a powerdrill and pulled the plug out and got spark. I understand what you're saying but I already checked for fuel, spark, and air. It worked and it stopped instantly telling me that something failed...
Did you get it fixed yet? I just worked on my neighbors Chinese 4 wheeler that was doing the same thing. I thought it was the starter as well, but after digging into it I realized the motor was frozen and the starter wouldn't turn the engine, and making the exact same sound/ scenario. If you unscrew the plug on the left side of the motor and put a socket on the flywheel nut u shld be able to turn the engine over. 10hr and the rings rusted to the cylinder. soaked it with pb blaster freed .FIXED
@kiiiro That actually is a good idea... thought that in my mind but always thought that just jumping it would help. But now that you say it that makes more sense.. Thanks!!!!
@corasuzie Naw, I'm thinking of messing with them next week cause I'm on break with family so I'd rather spend that time with them but I'll do another video maybe in a week or so
The problem is the starter bro.. I had the same problem with my chinese quad. just clean your starter, it is stucked! because of rust. Trust me, it'll work.
@janjanrimatica My sons has the same prob it work fine the last he rode..then went to crank it a month later and nothing new battery still nothing not even trying to crank at all..can you tell me what to do
@SUPERSANQUAN Hey, since this is thanksgiving break for me and all I will not be able to look at it now but I will try to fit some time between school next week for you and tinker with it and run a couple of tests on the starter and I had a couple of people tell me the starter is dead. but with mine the wiring goes straight to the stator then to the starter but I will try a direct hookup to the starter and other things. Just give me some time and I'll try to figure it out.
I just dealt with the same issue on my chinese atv. It was my battery. You had it hooked up to a vehicle with jumper cables,so it isn't your battery.Since you hooked it up to a vehicle and still wouldn't start,it sounds like it is your starter. The solenoid sounds like it is working.
dnt get rid of it,, i hav solenoid problems with my 250cc atv , all i do when it clicks i s remove the solenoid, wire brush it and sand back the terminals on the solenoid until they r shiny, and the the contact leads that go onto it, but never wriggle the terminal posts, cos it will crack the bakerlite and never work again,
I have the same atv and hade the same problem it never started then i showed the proffesenal he changed the engine oil but gas in it and changed the starter and put a brand new battrey and know it works every time the thing with theses chineses atvs you have to change the spark plugs every 3,000 miles
@halo68539 I thought about a new motor because it and the stator are the two most obvious problems not so much the battery though.. I'm broke and I have to save up for a gift for my gf and all so It will probably be a little while till I even touch them.. Thanks for watchin!

solenoid can not be the problem the moment you ran a screw driver across it you bypassed it sending 12 volts straight to starter. either the power wire is lose on your starter or it needs fixing. for that mater you could ground the frame and put you boster cable right on the wire on you starter.
In any case it is best, smart and safe and causes less damage to jump start your atv by putting one cable to the ground and one touching the side of the solenoid going straight to starter.
If the starter does not turn the starter is bad. It's just a DC electric motor and your are applying power to it from you car or whatever battery the jumper cable is connected to.
To test the starter motor connect your negative jumper cable to the negative poll on the ATV battery. Next disconnect the thick red wire from the solenoid that goes to the starter motor and touch the positive side of the jumper cable to the thick red wire you just removed from the solenoid. The starter motor should turn and try to start the ATV. This bypasses all the safety and start switch and key...
Do you have a fuse???
