  • I love this video and shared it on my fb page! Thanks for such an amazingly powerful video!!

  • @jamienicoleguy you are very welcome.

  • OMG

  • Does this remind anyone else of subway commercials? Guess the bitch just took his sandwich to many times. Lol

  • This was well done! Not to graphic, but got the point across!

  • amazing! congrads! what does the boy sais in the end? thanx, keep up the good work!!!

  • @butt3rfly18 The boy says "why dont you put this in your tea" i think :(

  • this was amazing, the message is so strong!

  • Good Creativity.....

  • if i would of recorded my domestic violence experiences, everyone in this world would cry for me everyday :(

  • i grew up with domestic violence. is it still domestic violence when your dad calls your mom stupid.

  • @bobysoad666 Yes, it is. It's considered verbal/emotional abuse.

  • @bobysoad666 Me too. But as I get older, I wonder if my mom didn't bring it on herself. She IS pretty stupid.

  • good.

  • that was just...OMG!

  • I was raised in a violent home. When my son was 6-months old, I gave him up for adoption as I hit him and I did not want the cycle of violence to continue. It almost killed me to do that as I loved him so much. But I wanted him to grow up in an abuse-free environment. Someone has to stop the violence.

  • Subtle and superb

  • oh my goodness this is so powerful.

  • there is no cycle i have been beaten by my mom but uim not going to hit my kids when i grow up well maybe like a soft little slap to make them look at me when i am talking to them if my son does something wrong i will only make him do it until he gets it right

  • @rvbsmcaboose

You don't even see the massive contradiction in your comment, do you?

  • @rvbsmcaboose even a small slap is child abuse. i'd rethink your parenting skills.

  • chilling but true

  • Damn........

  • I can't even watch that without wanting to cry.. because it's.. my family life. After moving back home, it becomes evident as to what it is. This is portrayal is true, and It hurts my heart.

  • STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. I want my own experience to help even ONE other person to break the cycle of abuse and end the nightmare. Please be that person! Love, Sarah

Go to Amazon.com for my book HONEYMOON AND HELL: A Memoir of Abuse ($5.99)

  • I bet she learned not to spill the next time.

  • Oh sh**

  • Excellent.

  • a nice visceral image, without having to overdo it or use shock.

  • Oh my god. I have no words. Saying this is amazing is an understatement.

  • Domestic violence wouldn't happen if you didn't pick the musle-bound high school jock, instead of the avarage looking nice guy.

  • @giovannimartinezm5

YES IT WOULD AND IT DOES.

Stop blaming domestic violence on ONE TYPE of persyn. All types of people commit domestic violence. And it ALL needs to end!

  • I work for a non profit violence prevention agency. Is there a way I can use this video to show to school groups and other agencies?

  • @cldecaro hi, i sent you a msg on youtube. if you still are interested in using this commercial, please write me back.

    thanks,

    holly

  • I own a table and a little play teaset exectly like that. My mom used to have a pair of shoes like that. That looks exaclty like my neighbors house....holy fuck...

  • .. . wow. .. that was very potent.

  • when done with kids, it sends the message alot quicker.

  • Gosh this is so good! :)

  • this is what happens alot!!

  • kids are the key to our future if we dont stop now and turn around and try to make the world a better place what kind of future will they have if we dont change now

  • very good actually. most domestic violence psas are unintentionally funny and come off bad. you did a good job. very realistic.

  • Brilliantly original. Ver powerfull

  • Disturbingly true and very effective.

  • Powerful and so true.

  • very true..and well done...especially the part when we knw its kids.

  • really impressive

  • Wow, that was amazing!

  • Wow. That's really good. Nice!!

  • Well made but very distressing, which I suppose is the whole point.

  • great job

  • wow, well done. This is really effective.

  • wow - very effective!

  • this is amazing.. It teaches you alot by children. Loved it:)

  • this is an amazing video! thank you for helping spread the word.

  • Now THIS is a good PSA. Not that over the top "try and strike fear into you" bullshit. Props to you.

  • This is an amazingly powerful ad.

  • "As a sexual abuse and domestic violence survivor, I know that keeping secrets only helps abusers."

Please visit my friend's blog, or share it with someone: vickielinegar.blogspot.com/

  • Kids learn a lot from their parents. Including domestic abuse. And, if this ad is to be believed, incest, as well.

  • The boy will become an abusive boyfriend at the age of 14. And the little girl will be in an abusive relationship.

  • Now that's what couples with children should see. If the parents does demestic violence, thier children sees it, then they act it out, and do the same when they'er older. That should be a wake up call.

  • Well done :)

  • so true

  • incredible

  • OMG.

  • well done

  • OMG this was a excellent video against domestic abuse. How true it is that most time we grow up to be a product of our home life.

  • Um don't you think it's a little harsh to you know rip out balls, and proceed to torture anyone. I mean what you're proposing is much worse than even domestic violence. I mean it's more extreme. I'm against violence against anyone and so therefore I think your statement is ridiculous and ultimately ironic. Where as your opponent might hate women, you clearly hate men. We aren't all at fault for your turmoil in this world...just saying.

  • wow

  • what happend at the end?! 5 stars!!

  • Please do not support Floyd Mayweather Jr. In 2002 he beat up 2 different girlfriends and in 2004 he beat up 2 more women at a nightclub. In 2005, he was ordered to court because he assaulted the mother of his children. There is also a petition out there that you can google that is asking the CEO of AT&T to drop their endorsement of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Please sign and pass the word. We don't need domestic violence convicts making more money. Please tell your friends and family as well.

  • Brilliant! Demonstrating generational influence and why the cycle continues.

  • great ad!

  • that was brilliant, having them wear their parents shoes. That was great!

  • wow on my birthday this happened

  • damn that was chilling...

  • I can't believe what I just saw!

  • You made this? Well done...

  • I would like to use this psa for a child development class. very disturbing but shows the affect that dv has on children

  • Good ad man

  • Great commercial! Thanks for posting this!

  • oh god, that scared me.great comercial, no one deserves to suffer at another's hand.

  • wow this so sad and amazing. such a good idea.

  • As a child of domestic abuse -- I found this video to be Spot On! Thank goodness someone could put into video, in a simple way, just a brief moment of what I grew up with! It's something you never outlive or forget.

  • kudos

  • Wow, very powerful. Good work.

  • Ugh, I can't stand this kind of garbage

    "You spilled the coffee!"

Aww grow the fuck up asshole! I'm of course referring to all the abusive husbands in the world. If your wife accidently spills coffee and your upset; tough shit. Grow the fuck up already

  • I hate it when this kind of stuff happens.

  • excellent video. very sad and very real

  • ok that's pretty much the most horrible thing I've seen all day.

  • This gave me the CHILLS, children are the HIDDEN VICTIMS, and yes, behaviors are learned. We need to help, the chain needs to be broken. Domestic violence is a generational violence.

  • i abuse :(

  • well stop :)

  • oh people should feel sorry for you. you probably just cant stop

  • I hope you know that this is a very bad thing to do. Try to get some help. Maybe talk to a psychologist or a psyciatrist. You can get help, but you have to act now. Don't let this behavior continue. Violence is never the solution!

  • OMG so sad I cried for a whole week :(

  • I LOVE UR COMMERCIAL !! I'm going to use it for my family violence project good stuff thanks

  • i have to do that. im going to use it too :)

  • lol we did the same

  • Same here (: im using it tomorrow for class

  • so true

  • WOW......I mean WOW...powerful

  • I got chills.

  • Silence of Abuse hurts...! Children are like a sponge...they soak up everything they see and hear!

  • But you can squeeze out a sponge.

  • fuck this is good, very powerful and true

  • so powerful and so true, really gets the point across !!!!!

  • Whoa.

  • the scary thing is.... these things really happen

  • Oh...that was really...sad...

  • Really good. They only show one set of anti domestic violence ads where I live, but this is a million times better!

  • .........WHOA...............

  • sell this to an anti domestic violence org. they'll buy.

  • Awesome.

  • i second that

  • That really makes you think. Very moving and powerful.

  • tea spill youth

    coffee spill adults

  • woah.....

  • yeah so true... perants if you love your kids dnt let them go through something like this...

  • That was deep!

  • WOW

  • Really good, I did a psa video about this issue too for my socology class, but you really got the point across in a very powerful and influential manner!

  • woow, great job...

  • Ok this was a good PSA. It hit home.

  • That was excellent. You are an artist.

  • Good video.

  • what does PSA stand for?

  • PSA stands for Public Service Announcement.

  • i personaly belive the best way to solve domestic violence is take the abuser out back and put a bullet in their brain that will stop the cycle. Violent pacification indeed

  • Perhaps a little less red meat in the diet would cure whatever wrong with you.

  • In a strong way, I agree with you. I think ppl that abuse should be locked up for life, forced to work in the jail to give back to society the immensity of what they took from it.

  • wow i think a part of my soul died just now

    that was.... WOW

    O_O

  • Very well done! It had a powerful message, and it was intense

  • oh man that was harsh,

  • this is a lot more powerful than those hilarious canadian PSAs

  • Very well done! we are having a charity concert in October and I would love to use this video on screen. How do I get permission?

  • ...HOLY SHIT

  • That's really good

  • Holly,

How can I get permission to use this video on our website? It is very powerful...

  • I think the folks who make televised PSAs should take notes from this.

  • Wow. Where'd they find kids to do this?

  • Ho...ly....shit, that was disturbing. Incredibly powerful stuff there!

  • ~I'm so freakin' mad right now! I had a presentation last week to do on DV & was searching all over for an appropriate clip to play....& eventually found one. This would've been better though. Damn, me.~

  • Hi Holly! I'm new to the tube, but I wanted you to know that this the most excellent video i have ever seen!! I am putting together a powerpoint presentation for class and wanted to know if you can email me this video? I tried to do it but it came as a link, so I dont know how to add it as a video in one of my slides.

    Audrey

  • i created this commercial and i'm wondering what school you saw it at.....thanks, holly

  • oh my god!!!!!

  • wow. this is very well made and gets the message across.

  • brilliant video

  • Teens stopping domestic violence go to siv2009 (dot) com this will help Rihanna and others yall. They got "Please stop the abusing, abusing." lip glosses. They donating the profits to a domestic violence violence organization. And they only 3 dollars I know im supporting.

  • they should have showed this add to chris browns mother....maybe she would have gotten him help before it got to the point where it is now

  • XxchrisbrownloverxX: I would prefer that Chris Brown's dad saw it.... Lets not blame Mrs Brown for being beaten by Mr Brown. All too often the woman is blamed - for not leaving, allowing her children to witness it or for 'provoking'. The abuser is responsible for his actions. Children who witness DV do not all grow up to abuse, it is a controlled choice.

Excellent PSA, I will use it in my work to show the impact DV has on children.

  • Oh my god, this ad is spectacular, it really gets the point across

  • Believe it or not alcohol is not the main factor in domestic violence. You may think so, but it's not. 80% of the abusers admitted that drugs or alcohol mellow them out and make them less likely to strike.

Domestic violence is a learned behavior. The good majority of abusers were victims themselves.

  • How true that is! This is a great video, thank you!

  • This just gave me Goosebumps

  • brill video!!

  • my daughters did that once scared me straight

  • this video is incredibly disturbing, but only in the sense that this is so true. exceptional job on this.

  • daaaamn...

    so true

  • great video!

  • This has a personal impact on me. My dad was abusive, and I almost became abusive myself. I'm glad my loving friends, my therapist, teachers, and mom helped me through it. And they helped my sister overcome her victim traits . . . thanks for posting this.

  • good job!

I have to do a psa commercial for alcohol abuse, so i was wondering what video editing program did you use?

  • I really love this advert, it has impacted my wife in a special way, and I want others to see it as well!

  • mm mmm

    damn.

    thats a true statement.

  • omg...wow, thats serious, people really do eed to see what children learn from ourselves...

  • wow great point. Did you actually use child actors for this commercial?

  • Wow this was such a compelling video with a clear and direct message that I am writing a paper on it, I hope you do not mind

  • I agree

  • *Wow. that gave me chills!!!! so very sad!!!*

  • Children, whether we want to believe it or not, are a clean canvas waiting to be painted. Or a lump a clay ready to be molded into a work of art. Its the duty of PARENTS to try and mold them into a beautiful sculpture or a beautiful painting so that they can be the very BEST that they can be in life.

But so many parents don't even think twice about that...

  • Wow... that is so true children soak up behaviors like a sponge!

  • omg

    that got the point across

  • I thought it conveyed the message clearly and right to the point. Great video.

  • awesome commercial.

  • THIS COMMERCIAL ROCKS!!

  • This was really good.

  • ....wow. i say put it on tv (except on more adult channels. don want this on disney channel)

  • Why not on disney? more than 50% of children live in violent homes anyway and see it live as it happens might as well see something that will tell them that tis wrong.

  • i usually laugh and poke fun and right rude non pc comments at stuff like this... but... this... made me feel sad

  • omg, aww :(

  • Children are like clay, they learn from there environments this advery is perfect in showing that in a child brought up in an abuse environment. when they become parents guess what the cycle begins again.

  • excellent video. Great way to get your message across.

  • This is exactly why i left my ex, i didn't want my daughter to grow up seeing it and thinking it was ok :(
