i do believe larry was respectively the rookie of the year..i saw them both that year, and while larry's game was individually superior, magic had to teach himself how to shoot..however the large margin of votes is just pure bias.. it should've been A LOT closer..

@elmolovescookies I think Bird had played better his rookie year too. Bird took Boston from last place to the Eastern Conference Finals...the biggest single season turnaround in NBA history. I think the Celtics won at least 60 games Bird's rookie year...and he did that without Parish and McHale. You got to remember that the Lakers at least made the playoffs the year before...and Magic had the league MVP on his team...Kareem. Larry's stats were better too. Voters knew Larry was the best choice.

@Dman4901 Lot of people are. The lockout kills the sports. Its ok though they have a lot of superstars now. More than 1999s lockout did. Theyll come back fast im sure. The real problem with the nba these days is the flops. Derek Fisher is garbage. So is anyone else who does a flop, but D fish's only skill set is flopping and lucky shots hes a scrub.
