  • Sounds like SuperMan!

  • thank you for addig a link to part 2 in the discription ewery one should do that when they make a 2 part video

  • if i switch to low power mode will i lag when watching hd movies with vlc media player?

  • @g0dlike308 I just tested a couple of HD movies in media player classic with the laptop in low power mode while streaming over wireless and everything played fine. Results with vlc should be similar.

  • @mcbeatbox937 ok thanks

  • Should I buy ul30vt or 1215N? Here in my country the prices are almost the same

  • @Ilmdah I just quickly checked the specifications on the 1215N and the UL30VT should be faster overall.

  • he says definitely takes some getting used to again and again haha

  • a + for the display? LAL, this guy sounds like he has no idea!!! i've bought and sent this piece of crap back just becaus of the horrible angle, washed out colors and the crappy brightness. just a nightmare of a portable device! angle really pisses of if you are watching a blu-ray from hdd or external rom with your friends.

  • sweet voice man

  • Damn your voice is fucking annoying!

  • between this and the ul80vt and the ul50vt, which would you consider better for college? the 30vt seems super portable, but the 80vt seems like its just as portable with a bigger screen.

  • @del1992 The UL80/UL50 have bigger screens, but they are the same resolution, they also have an optical drive and the UL80 has a 320GB drive. I've heard that the build quality on the larger models may be a bit worse, but haven't used one myself. Battery life may be slightly better on the UL30VT because of the smaller screen. I would say go with the UL30VT unless you need the DVD drive in the larger models.

  • lmfao... i just wanna laugh at the captions that youtube has on your video... its so off and it seems like the captions is talking about politics instead of what your saying..

  • The UL30JT is priced at about $400 more, so waiting for that is not necessarily relevant.

Nor would you necessarily need the faster CPU in a computer like this (and the GPU in UL30JT is basically the same as in the UL30VT)

  • cd room?

  • @henrolig The UL30VT doesn't come with one, but the larger models, such as the UL50VT and UL80VT do.

  • how much heat does this thing throw off?

  • Not a lot..it says fairly cool even when gaming.

  • @mcbeatbox937 : Nice review, does it have an in-built microphone for web chatting? It does not say that in the specs.

  • @TheSuperdhruv Yeah, it has a microphone.

  • Haha, sounds like Sylvester Stalone talking ;D

But great review, actually might get one of these and pair with an Intel x25-M G2 SSD.

  • hahaha...lol dude.!

  • Have you had a chance to install Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta? If not, can you?

Can you try using integrated graphics for a day to see how long the battery lasts?

    Thank you!

  • I haven't had time to test Flash 10.1 yet but the battery is close to 10 hours with integrated graphics.

  • ul50vt has 15.6in screen, dedicated nvidia graphics, 8 cell battery and an optical drive

  • whats the difference between this and the UL50VT?

  • Screen size and I believe the UL50VT may not have Bluetooth.

  • do they still sell this with a 4 cell bettery? i just want the thing to weight less and i dont exactly need 12 hours of battery....

  • As far as i know the UL30VT-X1 comes with the 4-cell battery and the UL30VT-A1 comes with the bigger battery.

  • I have no idea what to get...Either the UL80VT or the UL30VT...

    - The UL80VT Has a bigger screen, an integrated optical drive and DOESENT have bluetooth.....

    - The UL30VT has a smaller screen, No optical drive but has an integrated bluetooth...

    Which one should i get..

  • @branjobu96 I would go for UL80VT. You can always get a bluetooth dongle if needed, and it will fit in your pocket. Something that can't be said about having to carry around an external optical drive!

  • @branjobu96

do you really need optical Dvd/cd Drive?

I have the ul30vt, and i got external DVD drive,

I noticed that i almost never needed a DVD drive. its lighter without it, and it more sturdy,

for playing and installing games, i use ISO. files, torrent.

    Get the Ul30vt ,

  • Yes i really need the optical drive for installing games and watching movies on the go and i find a bluetooth stick much cheaper than the Optical drive...And it fits right on the pocket....So ill stick for the UL80VT...Thanks anyway!! =D

  • Don't buy either. Wait for the UL30Jt. It comes with Intel Core i7 640UM/62UM processor with Turbo Boost Technology.

    Hope i'm not too late!

  • wow!! gonna wait for tht!!!

is it gonna be good for gaming too?? i bet!!!

  • @RocAha8ter yeah but it's gonna cost houndres more;) and it's a i7 CULV.

  • its quite more expensive though, dont u think? Have u bought i yet? Curious beacause im kind of intrested in the UL30VT

  • @fromdehjulsbro

The Nvidia 310M in the JT offers a minimal boost in performance for games and the i3-330um - which was supposed to b the superior i7 640UM/62UM - will drain the battery faster. I'd say the UL30VT is better choice - even after 6 months - because of longer battery life, cheaper price, and great performance. This is coming from someone who has a desktop with an i7 920 @ to 3.6ghz, 5870, 6gb ram and thinks netbooks are too slow. UL30JT wasn't what I thought it was. Hope that helps!

  • @RocAha8ter That's one damn fine piece of machinery :D (your detskop) . Thank u for the advice

  • @RocAha8ter

well if u a poor student as me it gonna be too expensive though ;D

i think i will for for the ul30vt

  • @branjobu96 Shoot for the 30, the UL series is mainly for mobility. Needless to say, with an 18 inch screen you're not gonna get much mobility. Also, wait for the JT series to come out, it's much faster.

  • too late... i got the 80vt..

  • get UL50VT

  • Fingerprint magnet.

  • i really like this series, ordered mine last night so it should get here today NEXT DAY AIR!!!! but mine is a ul50ag. but to just get a idea how long would battery last while gaming?

  • I just did a quick test of running the battery down to 90% while gaming...and it says about 1 hr and 40 minutes. I'm not sure how accurate this is but at least it should give you an idea of what it can do.

  • nice! lucky u! it looks sweet

  • dont know how much you got it for, but best buy is selling the ul50ag for $679

  • Hey!

Can you tell me what's the real battery life while using wifi and lcd on like 20-30%?

  • I haven't actually completely run the battery down yet but I think I have about 70% left after about two to three hours with settings similar to what you described.

  • is the bar under the mouse, left and right click...is it hard to click?

  • It is somewhat hard to click although not terrible. I have mostly been using the mouse gestures though.

  • oh woops sorry u did say that, missed that u were referring to that button i guess

  • hey I have a tip for you to do the touch gestures. I found that to do the 3 finger tap, you have to spread your fingers out, so space them out to the edges of the touchpad when you tap it. works everytime for me now.

  • yeah it does work better that way for me too. thanks

  • great review, getting one myself soon.

u mentioned that it gets warm when playing a game or watching videos, could u tell me how warm?

  • Great detailed review!
