  • awesome drawings so imaginative but still 1:20 A BOOB!

  • @TheInfiniteZombies Ha! well, I suppose one man's eye is another man's boob. Nothin' wrong with that. :^D Thank you for the compliment, TIZ.

  • @StefanGBucher XD lol

  • @28880 Ha! Thank you very much, 28880. You're too 888 sweet! :^)

  • i'm in love with you...r drawings

  • had to do this in school once, our art teacher was inspired by you! :P

    Mine failed hard :P

  • @manneke150 Oh, I can't imagine that it failed. I'm sure it was much more FTW than you realize. :^)

  • @StefanGBucher if you want I can scan it in and send it to you, so you can see my failed art :P

( when my exams are done :( )

  • @manneke150 Ha! OK. My e-mail is on the website.

  • wow, your sharpie is amazing, how the hell is it still black? Dx

  • @rangerbirdy Well, you know how they had like six Lassies, and they always use twins to play one kid on TV? It's like that. One man, many Sharpies. :^)

  • how the hell do you come up with this stuff ?? pretty awesomeeee !

  • @ButterflyxBabyx Thank you very much, ButterflyxBabyx. I'm glad you like 'em. They just come to me, really. As long as I manage to sit myself down and start drawing. that's the only tough part. :^)

  • OH MY WORD!! how can you write so pretty and straight on unlined Paper??

  • @SleepingBananas Hi SleeppingBanana. That's really just practice. :^)

  • Question: did you ever receive formal art training? I've been accepted into SCAD and am just wondering where you get your inspiration for so many monsters.

  • Congratulations on getting into SCAD, ACslashDC. It's a great school with an unfortunate acronym. I just met some SCAD students at the CTN Animation Expo last week.

I got my degree (In advertising of all things, oy!) at Art Center College of Design in 1996. I took drawing classes there, but not nearly as many as I should've. It's a real regret. But if I had, maybe I would've known better than to do something as goofy as my beloved Monsters. So... phew! I got lucky.

  • Part 2:

The inspiration? I seem to have an inspiration gland that's activated by the pressure my chair puts on my butt when I put the latter into the former. (Seriously, the Monsters are about process. I never know what'll come out, but I know it'll be SOMETHING. :^)

  • Thank you for the congratulations, as of now I'm looking into AACD as well. Lately I've been setting my sights on RISD as an alternative top choice, even if it's about 500 times as hard to be accepted to. Anyway, I think your art is great and hope you keep up your current consistency!

  • ACCD, not AACD. Big difference. :^) RISD is great, of course, but Providence, RI is no picnic. So glum! They have a great endowment, though, so it's easier to get scholarships. (And thank you again. )

  • :3 this one looks really cute!

I wish i could draw like you, :( i need way more practise...

  • Thank you, NatlieSparkie. Just have fun doodling, the rest will take care of itself. :^)

  • id love to draw lik u

  • Thank you, MOOSHOOT3. Just start doodling and the stuff will come. :^)

  • the sounds are greeeaaat :D it´s funny !

  • Thank you, JJK91. I'm glad you like 'em. :^)

  • where did you get the airbrush? ive been looking for them, and i can't find them. im gonna feel stupid if they are at family dollar

  • Hello, thevilkitty616. It's not an airbrush, but a can of compressed air that I blow on a few drops of ink. :^)

  • I'd be more impressed by this if you didn't use the same technique for all 198 after it.

  • Sorry to leave you cold. What can I say... I'm a lazy, lazy man.

  • you do fantastic work!

  • You're very kind, iKaiser. I'm glad you like it. :^)

  • I am actualy trying to draw more and more and I cant make things as dark and clean looking as you do.. do you have any hints or tips you can give me? anything will help lol

    XD

PS i love your monsters lol

  • Hello, fuzzyfireworks. I'm glad you're enjoying the creatures. Sharpies help with the even darkness, especially when they're new and juicy. Beyond that, I use Faber-Castell PITT artist pens, Staedtler pigment liners, Tombow ABT pens, and Yasutomo Sumi ink on regular old uncoated bond paper.

  • Thank you! I actualy have a few of those things laying around me house actualy. XD Keep drawing! lol

  • I like the sound your marker makes with the time lapse

  • Thank you, flyordie2. I do, too. Like a bird fluttering its wings, somebody told me. :^)

  • I don't know what made me think about your creations today, but I did. I found out about your monsters around #25 or so and was absolutely hooked. Each new monster was something to look forward to! I couldn't get the videos on your site to work for whatever reason so I came here to watch a few of them again. The sound of the marker is comforting indeed ^_^ Though I never posted a story I just wanted to say that your creations are fantastic and are much appreciated!

  • Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful note, tehgorn. I really appreciate it. There were some problems with the video host on my website, but I'm glad you were able to see the creatures here. :^)

  • I just smoked a blunt and saw this video and it is a wonderful thing. Congrats

  • Ha! Nice, jondendy. I've never indulged, but I can imagine that it would work. I'm glad you like the Monsters. :^)

  • Hello hunhulio. It's sumi ink.

  • MONSTER #2:

    Species: Big Black Blob

    Personal Name: Licorice

Story: Licorice hated his name. "Licorice?" Why not Slimer or Night Demon? But LICROICE? Sigh.

  • Hello again, S13AR10AFan! Very nice! Am I noticing a pattern? Are you going to work your way through all 200 monsters. :^)

  • Maybe!

  • Hey StefanG, I just subscribed to you and I can't wait to see what new tricks you have hiding up your sleeves. You are terrifically talented!! I'm really proud of you, keep it up!

I love the dramatic black-n-white effect! Wow!

  • Oh, thank you so much for that lovely comment, MomChinea. I really appreciate it. If you actually started with Monster 01, you've got 177 new monsters waiting for you. Maybe check them out on my site. The video quality is better, and you can read the funny stories everyone's been posting. Either way, thank you so much. I'm glad you like the monsters!

  • Wow, that's really neat. How did you do the first part? Ink and compressed air? What sort of ink? The effect is really amazing.

  • It's Yasutomo Sumi Ink. I'm glad you like the monsters, k3lit0
