Anette is a GREAT singer for this type of music. Tarja, she has a few good songs. But NW was TRAPPED, into her singing style. I am NOT an opera fan. I hear people say Tarja was METAL. She is a talented singer, but she is NOT metal. She's classical, opera.. That is NOT metal. Anette is so rangy, NW can do alot with her. I have listened to some old NW, and the music was great, But Anette would have done better. Tarja was talented for her style. But I doubt I'd heard of this band with Anette.

I have mixed feelings about this song... I like the song (it get stuck in my head often enough), but it's a bit garish for a band to dismiss their singer the way they did and then write a song about the letter and the ousted singers reaction. When I first heard this song I thought it was about when someone only wants to be with someone else because of their looks but that person only wants them to be with them for who they are. Then I found out it was about you-know-who.
damn pervs. the whole point of this video was to show that it is about music not beauty, which is why the video transitions between the hot chick guitarist and the actual members of the band. thus... Considering Marco is an absolutely amazing metal vocalist, I have no idea why they even replaced Tarja. If you skip all the sections of the song not sung by Marco, this song is nearly perfect.

@nateatuide2 Tarja got fired because the reason they made music changed for her. Her husband reportedly began to make her view the money side over the music side. Anette was chosen from a very large group of applicants (over 1000 is what I've read). And Tuomas likes the way she sings their songs. He's said that, "The music sounds like I've imagined it sounding". And they're still going with Anette.
So i began looking at Nightwish videos six months ago, and stoped for the past three months. Now when i'm seeing this again, i STILL see comments arguing about Tarja and Annette. You know what - I think even those two women must be over it by now. And some people are still stuck in it! Give it a rest people! Tarja was good with the band, and still is without! As for Annette, she sings very well. I hope this ends soon. Maybe next year the cooment section will be free of these annoying squables!

Where did this band originate? They almost sound German... They remind me of The Scorpions and they we're from Germany. The accent...

@nateatuide2 There's a lot of 'he said, she said' about it, but the short and public version (as I understand it) is this: the three guys wrote and signed an open letter that said they weren't happy with Tarja, and they were kicking her out of the band. They auditioned, they picked Anette. Not much else to say, really.

@nateatuide2 Tarja got fired because the reason they made music changed for her. Her husband reportedly began to make her view the money side over the music side. Anette was chosen from a very large group of applicants (over 1000 is what I've read). And Tuomas likes the way she sings their songs. He's said that, "The music sounds like I've imagined it sounding". And they're still going with Anette.

Tarja is the original singer. She does not suck, but her voice is more operatic and would not have worked for this song.

So i began looking at Nightwish videos six months ago, and stoped for the past three months. Now when i'm seeing this again, i STILL see comments arguing about Tarja and Annette. You know what - I think even those two women must be over it by now. And some people are still stuck in it! Give it a rest people! Tarja was good with the band, and still is without! As for Annette, she sings very well. I hope this ends soon. Maybe next year the cooment section will be free of these annoying squables!

@Sunandmagicx Agreed,ive listined to Nightwish since before Tarja left,I was sad to see her go but everyone is beter off that way.Anette is really a great singer,alot of people just have hard time accepting change and believe you cant like one without liking the other.Both singers are great,Tarja is doing her thing,nightwish is doing theirs.

@Sunandmagicx Thank you! It seems there's a few out there who can accept that Nightwish has moved on. All I see now is people going on about the change in singers as if they think they'll be able to change the band's mind. And I agree, Annette sings wonderfully.
