hi im going to YN next year with my PB arab. im doing hunter pleasure 13&u, hunt EQ, western pleasure, and western EQ got any tips about those classes? its my first year W/T/C because im just getting to be old enough! but i do school W/T/C. i need as much help as i can get?
@ThePonygeek What you really need to do is watch your spacing, there are so many horses that if you stay pinned to the rail the judges wont see you, stay towards the middle n show your pony off! good luck =]
Hi my name is Natalie! My best friend is actually Indianapolis right now with her arab. It is my dream to go to nationals, so hopefully I will be able to compete one day. I have a gorgeous half Arab, palomino pinto, but she's only like 14.3, but we won 1st place in our first horse show ever last year!! Haha I hope we can go next year!!
Youth is pretty much the best of each region so if you do well in the harder regions like 11 or 12 then it should be easy enough. He went this year with a little walk trot rider and she went reserve with him which is a big change from last year so it depends on who goes and all that.
Im not sure I mean every horse and rider pair has room for improvement but who knows if its enough. So id say keep trying and working at it and ya never know =]
I always enter the ring and hit the "wall" of nerves, where your kinda like ohhh this is scary. but after a lap or two I settle into a rhythm with my horse and don't even notice everyone else.
@cateracowgirl858 it is very super duper hard to go to youth. i went this year, and it is the hardest show i have ever been to in my life! i have been showing for over 3 years.
Yep, lol I found out like 3 days before my show. We just braided her 2 1/3 foot long tail like a coach horse. In the end it didn't look all that bad, and she placed well. I'm proud of my Arab girl!
i will agree with you there. I bought these really expensive clothes that I use to show O/F. and everytime my horse would stretch his neck over the jump, my reins would slide right out of my hands. but theennn. i found a pair that someone had left on the last day of a show and they had already left so i took the gloves. they are awesome! leather gloves that arent slippery at all!
Does anyone know where I can get those little white things in the manes and tails. I have 2 purebred arab geldings and I dont know where to et them?

I love your horse's trot and hand gallop, he's such a big flowy mover =) Have you tried sport horse under saddle/in hand with him?
4x4Girl14 7 months ago
@4x4Girl14 He did sport horse under saddle before I bought him and did quite well, I was thinking of possibly trying it again next show season

@almondjoyy56 You definitely should! His gaits cover a lot of ground, that's mainly what they look for =) Plus he has great conformation

@4x4Girl14 Thanks :D and he sure loves to run at the canter he probably would do well in sport.

youre an amazing rider!
couple of questions though:
will you still be in the 13&u class in the 2010 show season?
will you be showing in the WMAHA Fall classic in 2010?
if you say yes to all of these, i will see you there!
rofl!

almondjoyy56 2 years ago
Oh that's his real tail, we put it in a braided wrap when he isn't showing so it grows that long. He's 11 so its been growing for a while.
