  • Its a little bit of everything i like... Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Bob Dylan, James Taylor

  • This is lyricism like you don't see in the manufactured pop anymore, this song is perfect

  • So vivid, poignant, and well-written is A Little Bit of Everything that, hearing it for the first time today on XM Radio, I felt as if I were not just hearing but also seeing the song unfold.

  • Musically I think this song draws inspiration from Jackson Browne's Christmas song entitled

"The Rebel Jesus." This is especially apparent on the album version, which leverages piano and steel guitar. Here's a link:

  • Reminiscent of I Will Follow You Into the Dark or Murder in the City in how it can evoke so much emotion so easily. BTW, another shout out for the Current.

  • tryin to emulate neil young sound, but they dont live that lifestyle so there lyrics stop at a highly cerebral jewish level.

  • @joesobo9 reminds me much more of Jackson Browne than Neil Young.

  • unbelievably beautiful song

  • i just want to listen to this over and over again.

  • That's weird, I first heard this song on 91.9, but WNTI Hackettstown, NJ :P

  • it isn't fair that songwriting can catch the depths of emotion so easily, that lyrics can wrench so deeply in such simple words. it isn't fair because makes me choke up every time.

  • Dear 89.3 The Current, Thank you again! MN love

  • @bigredhelland my thoughts exactly

  • I cry every time the current plays this... I'm on 3 cries in 2 weeks in the car. I agree - something very 'old' about this song. Reminds me of a hymn in a way I can't explain.

  • PERFECTION. Period.

  • I just turned on my radio a little while ago and this is what I heard in a live presentation on The World Cafe. I didn't kow who it was, I just knew how it made me feel. I tracked it down and feel all the more better knowing who the artist is now. This is truely a stunning piece of writing. I'm not familiar with Dawes, but suspect I'll search out more music of theirs in the future.

  • So new, but so old. If this song was the one, the world would be a better, more understanding, place. Can Dawes please come to Australia, we need you.

  • Gets me to tears every time. So beautiful.

  • My girlfriend and I danced to this song as we listened to it on the current. She began to cry and said she is worried about me. I've been fighting depression for quite some time. She made this song mean so much. This song is helping me fight. Simply beautiful.

  • This song is so full..

  • This song is magical; one of the best songs I have ever heard. I love how authentic his voice sounds. He's not trying to sound beautiful, he's trying to sound real, and somehow, that ends up being all the more beautiful.

  • OMG I heard this on the way home one night and I had chills

  • I can relate to this song in so many ways.

  • This song is beautiful, I heard it on The Current in Minnesota, and I love it.

These lyrics are ammmazing, and it ties together so well at the end.

    <3

  • <3 89.3 the current!

  • Love it!!!!

  • Some of the best lyrics I've ever heard!

  • OMG! I just love this song..just heard it today on the "Loft" on serius / xm.....very moving

  • These lyrics remind me so much of Warren Zevon, especially "if you can give yourself to someone, then you should"

  • "it's like trying to make out every little word when you should simply hum along " such a well written line, a touching song. I heard it on 89.3 the Current here in Minnesota. something about this song stays with you.

  • @jessejps thats where i heard it brah!!!

  • @jessejps Same here. I heard it driving home from work, and I can't stop listening to it. It's an amazing song.

  • @jessejps I just heard it on the current this morning driving to school, it was hard not to cry :)

  • This song has made me cry - it is so moving. I heard it on the radio - probably a US station (Paradise) that my other half likes. This group will go far in my opinion.

  • One of the most beautifully written songs I've ever in my life heard

  • georgeous song, found this band today, a sad day for music with the loss of Clarence Clemons - Songs like this should restore faith in todays music, most notably the faith of people like levon and Robbie, Bruce, Jackson Browne and the late great Warren Zevon

  • Saw them at bright eyes- AMAZING!

  • This is very Jackson Brownesque or Jackson Browneish or it has Jackson Browne like qualities. My point is it sounds like something Jackson Browne would sing.

  • @MrBuc128 the song fire away off the same album actually has Jackson Browne singing background vocals.

  • @MrBuc128 I heard this song on the radio today and the same thought immediately hit me.

  • loveeeeee this guy

  • Eh don't know if want... I prefer to see him rocking his tele.

  • @TheFendertone same

  • saw them at Headliner's in Louisville about 6 hours after they recorded this video. I couldn't help but ask Taylor to play "that new song" as he and the rest of the band were mingling during the opening act. Their encore opened with Taylor noting my specific request and continuing to play this beautiful song.

Gotta love Dawes AND the mighty fine 91.9 WFPK!!!!

  • just saw DAWES in concert last night in Rochester! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! <3 This song is wonderful

  • if only music was half this good.

    dawes is a epic band.

  • I really like the songs he writes that aren't about girls.

  • great song. the weeks brought me here..another wayy underrated group of fxcking amazing ass music makers, check out there videos.

  • what a great tune, it made me cry!

  • best tune i've heard in a very long time

  • played this up in Boston both in their mini acoustic show and their full concert, such a great tune

  • WOnderful tune. Taylor has such a gift with truth and lyrics. I've seen two shows, and I am truly inspired as a musician and admire how Dawes has grown as a band and as musicians.
