Using a psuedo science TV show as 'proof' of anything is laughable. It doesn't take a smart guy to figure out 4oz gloves hurt more than 16s. The ''force" value (ft.lbs) is identical because it is the same fighter. The difference in gloves is the pressure per unit of area. MMA gloves deliver much higher pressure and velocity. This show simply measured the wrong variable. They want PSI not Ft./Lbs.

When you figure in the fact that the Klitschko's are like half a foot taller than Tyson, I don't think the knockouts prove they hit harder than Tyson. They're punching downward on many of their opponents, which makes a difference. Tall guys are hard to fight, that's why there were so many holding belts back in the day when Tyson ran through them. Your fist is the same size regardless of the glove it's in. That's where the impact is coming from, your only hitting with the area of your knuckle.
The video proves it anyway. 10 PSI give or take, could have been due to variables with how hard the guy testing punched each time.

You can have all the heart in the world, if you get caught on the button it's a natural physical reaction. Someone having a strong chin really refers to that persons neck muscles a lot of the time. If you can take a punch without your head snapping to hard, you can survive it.

@BoxingFly01 Plus MMA fighters that usually get caught of guard when they get knocked out because of the different aspects of fighting. If you are trying to catch a leg kick and all of a sudden are hit with a vicious hook to the head, chances are you will be hurt or stunned because you didn't have a chance to brace for the punch. Boxers learn to brace their necks when they know they are going to be hit.

The boxing glove is bigger so the impact is spread over a larger area, a good example of this is snow shoes.

All sports take Heart. Fighting in general takes guts. When it comes to boxing though, I believe that trading punches to fight takes more courage then having the option to wrestle. In boxing you may have to take one to land one. That's not discrediting anything in MMA or it's Athletes. They fight, they bleed, I don't like boxing because I think it's "better," I like boxing because it's BOXING.

@BoxingFly01 Boxers take twice the punches because the glove spreads the area of damage while mma gloves have small impacts causing the knockout. If anything boxing gloves protect boxers from knockouts.

A right hand from Klitschko is FAR more powerful then anything tyson could throw. Tyson was always a speed fighter first, his power was good for his size and speed, but it was nothing compared to guys like klitschko, lewis, and foreman.

If you want to see a good chin ive got 2 words for you...Mark Hunt, he is a kickboxer/ MMA fighter check out his fight with Ray Sefo he drops his hands and just stands there taking punches. If you know who Ray Sefo is then it's even more impressive, especially since he has the highest KO ratio in K1.

Knockout ratio, number of one punch knockouts, and the testimony of opponents all point to the fact that wald hits harder then tyson.
It was tyson's speed and accuracy that made him devastating.

knockout ratio doesn't tell the story, it all depends on how many KOs in early rounds, whether its a KO or corner stoppage. Bottom line is tyson had much more KO power than Wlad. Just take a look at fighters like foreman, frazier, tyson, pac man, all have ability to end fight quickly from punches, whereas a guy like wladimir klitschko scores KOs from an accumulation of punches over rounds

doesn't matter if you can take a good punch when you are getting choked out or arm-barred.
boxing is stand-up game and MMA is pretty much a wide array of fighting style.

Boxing, even in his low days know, draws still a bigger crowd then mma.
This clip shows that boxers have a better chin then mma, if you see how fast mma guys are knocked down.
But I don't agree that Klitchko punches harder then Tyson, Klitchko wears his compition down and then knock them down. Tyson did it in the first rounds.

A larger variety of techniques, yes. A mastery of many techniques, hello no. The striking in MMA is hideous. I have an appreciation for good ground work but the D- level kickboxing fights that many of these bouts are turning in to just sux.
