  • You made it look so easy, even with the wind you didn't get tangled up a bit! Thanks - Anna

  • I was thinking that you could put fishing sinkers at two of the corners of the net and just throw them over the tree...

  • Nice to see an aussie on youtube:D i was considering making a frame out of wood or piping and attaching the bird netting to that, thinking it would be easier to take apart and put back together again seasonally, also since my mum has been using your method for years and often still finds the bloody birds get in.

  • There to purchase this type of net in the U.S.?

    Anyone knows?

  • Helpful video!!! I have a Montmorency cherry(bigger than the one here)that needs netting.I didn't have a clue. Would've tried it single-handed & it would've been a mess ....glad I watched it done 1st. Can you give me an idea of how to go about netting a tree that's bigger than this one? Do I treat the tree as 2 halves & overlap the netting in the middle?Or do they have to be joined, either before or after it's on the tree? Thanks for the awesome video. (The wind noise is actually a nice effect.)

  • Wow. I think I need to really prune my trees. I'll never get a net like that over my big loquats! Maybe I could make like a treehouse for cats and the cats could scare them away - ha.

  • cute tree...nice shape...your pruning work?...

  • I like that your fruit trees are dwarf in size, sure makes it easier to net. Very nice video. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos. Happy New Year!

  • hi tut, theorectically you could but it would help if i knew the apple varieties, email me if u like.

  • Sorry mate dont want to make a bother you to much guess you get a lot of messages.

If i graft a branch off my a fruit bearing tree onto my sterile tree do you think I may get it to bear fruit or should scrap it? I dont want to get rid of it as I grew it from an apple pip.

Hope you can help me out cheers.

  • Cheers mate Ive changed my Name on here thought the other one was a bit daft lol, plus was getting idiots emailing me.

I will try to find out the Apple varieties, your other videos have been a great help to me. Thanks Pommy Tommy :)

  • looks like a lot of hard work

    better you than me

i'll stick to tomatoes and green peppers

plant it and forget about it

  • i hope you dont mind me asking, Ive watched a lot of your videos. I have a apple tree ive grown from a pip about 4 years old, Ive been told it will not bear fruit if I transplant a cutting from a blossoming tree to my infertile tree will it bear fruit? Or do you have any sites that may help me.

Happ New Year and keep up the good work.

    Tommy

  • Ahhh sweet. I was hoping you would make a video on this. Thx..

  • i got it from a garden centre, 100mt roll, you can buy it per metre tho.

  • Wow you've got a whole roll of the stuff.. where do you get that from?

  • make a Large U shaped 3/4 in. PVC net stretchers and attach the top net to it with Tye-wraps or what have you and holding the open legs position and drop it over the tree. 3 pieces of pipe and 2 90* elbows.

You can slip the pipe in and out of the long sides of the net edges and bunch it up at the end, then holding the open end of the U drop it over the tree and slide the pipe out of the net. I have propped the U on a ladder and pinched the ends and lifted it up and over myself .

  • I SWEAR I'm not a perv but after what you wrote in your "more info" section, I spent the whole time waiting for plumbers crack. LOL! Good to see your apples will be safe now.

  • looks nice an warm down there i wanna visit Australia someday
