Things haven't been the same since he left, not only a great driver but a great voice for everyone who loves motorsport and driving, while peter was around you didn't see the petty nanny state mentality in every single new road law, we seen him fighting them every single time telling the government the truth behind driving and why their ideas are more dangerous than the situations they are trying to prevent. Peter was a legend who stood up for the rights of all of us, we will miss him forever
I may hate holdens but i like allan moffat and i was watching a show on the abc and allan moffat was talking about when brock crashed and allan started to cry and that brought a tear to my eye :(
Pete Brock (Yank designer from the 60's) looks like he based the shape/design of this car like the original roof cobras that took on the Ferraris in 1964 & 1965 (won). Same top roof & rear wing. very fast cars.
@plotchickens you are the shitest cunt go kill yourself show some god damn respect for this legend but clearly you can't because your dog fucked you in the head so hard your brains had been filled with dog cum now I don't know how this works but good luck at giving birth to puppies out of your nose slippery gipsy eat a dick cunt! Also r.I.p. Brocky you legend you have inspired us all.
I was upset when Steve Irwin died, but nothing compared to a few days later when I heard about Brocky. It really hit me like a truck, I remember I got really drunk that night.
What a talent, what an icon, what an irreplaceable loss.
You're a legend PB and an Aussie icon. Tarmac rally is as exhilarating as it is dangerous and Brocky's crash proves it. RIP mate.. And yes, have some bloody repsect.
I was there. A lot of different opinions, some out of line. The driver was great no doubt, the car was extremely well built and that is why I am still here. It was wet and PB always drove fast. The car was handling well, so well that we posted second fastest time on leg 1. It was an accident, nothing can change the past. Have some respect for all involved.
Mother of God that engine is loud! That just makes me nervous to even imagine being in a car being driven like that! Bless his heart but I would have sent that notepad flying from the word go!
@GBeckfanNY - Yes, Mick Hone was the navigator and suffered broken ribs etc but he did live, although he remained trapped in the car with Peter dead beside him for some time...
I drive an XB coupe but respect to Brocky, he was an awesome driver. Dunno about you but I'm kind of almost wincing watching this - knowing what happened after it, its hard not to think he's going a bit quick for the conditions..theres even a few moments in this that look a bit too hairy for comfort...I'm watching this a few hours after 2 died in Classic Adelaide 2009, and much as I love cars and fast driving, it sure as hell makes you aware of how wrong it can go...

RIP Pete, your a legend, King Of The moutain, you will not be forgotten.
Deeply loved, sorely missed, greatly respected. An inspiration, a hero, always the king of the mountain.
I'm more a motorbike guy than a car guy, but if I go like Brockie, hard and fast to the final minute, doing what I love doing, then I can think of no better or more fitting way.
he isnt a king he isnt a legend he is the god of motorsport that car was legendary wat he last drove but it was wet and slippery so it would be hard to control even if you go for ford or not even like v8 supercars every 1 loves brocky we all miss you alot brocky R.I.P
far out, am i the only one who sees that every movement, every gear change, every flick of the windscreen wipers, every movement of the wheel, it just all seems so smooth to perfection... R.I.P to the driving legend, you are sorely missed
@tciiim then you cant drive as all i see is a car that is hell on wheels to control as poor tyre choice made the car a bitch on wheels. He fights the car thru every turn
@parrotscaraudio poor tyre choice was not the cause of the accident, there is no tyre choice you run on the same set of tyres start to finish and u receive a time penalty for every tyre change you make including changing worn out or punctured tyres, there was a lack of setup in the suspension of the car and brocky had been complaining about it all day mate, i was there
What a legend, but he must have known the dangers of road rallying what was basically a race car.The car didn't have the full safety protection of a proper rally car, all those trees and rocks to hit, ditches to fall into at full speed without proper safety caging. Life's a gamble I suppose ?
hey buddy that is not funny i was there when he got removed form his car and carried in to the ambulance and it wasnt on this stage but i cried when i seen him dead and the guy next to me died and it was the first time i ever seen a grown man cry
What a beautiful machine and what a shame about Brocky! I grew up watching this legend on TV. At least he died doing what he loves, my hat goes off to people like Brocky!
mate how can you say that you are what people hate in the racing world mate i was there when he died i was also the seconde person on the crash scene and to tell you the truth i was 15 year old think i was all tought and shit but i cried and i still do when i remember that day and the guy that was first was about 30 -35 years old and he lost the plot and to my dibelief they have cut the tree thet he came to greef with down now there nothing that signifies that corner now hell be missed by all
Plot chicken, best thing you could do is get your arse of you tube and stop being such a wanker, leaving pathetic comments on clips, clips you dont know anything about. As for your band, with a attitude like yours, who would want to see a wanker on stage, grow up idiot. Maybe You Tube should ban you and your sick comments.
yeah, it's a replica, and a lot better engineered one than the original. it was obviously pretty slippery that day. heaps of opposite lock going on- not huge powerslides but heaps of it none the less.
BROCKY, u were my hero, my inspiration and the true reason why i am a holden nut. u wer the best that australia had to offer to the world. u will NEVER be forgotten, no-one will ever be compaired to this motoring legend.
I think it would be pretty hard to get hold of that footage to be honest with you. It's been said that there was a camera that recorded all the data like throttle%, steering lock and final drive ratio etc. But only the Police and S.C.U were able to look at it. It's never going to be shown public. I wouldn't mind seing it myself just to get an idea of what happened. But can you imagine if it was shown to the public. You'd never hear the end of people complaining about it.
This video shows the talents of a great driver. Peter hated being called Perfect because no one can be. He knew this and that is why I believe he died doing what he knew best. He loved to race and to be near all the races. He gave some young drivers the best advice they could be told. He knew ever bump or ditch in pretty much every track he raced on. He knew the tracks like the back of his hand. That is why he liked the Targa rallies, it was a challenge to his skills. Brock always with you!
that just shows how much of a legend he was. he drove a V8 muscle car like that, straight for the whole stage in the wet. he didn't have it sideways at all except for after the finish!
Yes R.I.P. My Idol, My Hero. Sad to see him go. But least he enjoyed life up to the very end. It was pretty though watching him handle that car, as said, he looked so relaxed in doing it. I liked his little power slide at the end when he completed that stint.
Peter Perfect, showing what he was. Perfect! As for the comments about the car, the car was designed by Brock & by no means a pig! Beautiful Car, Beautiful man. He is Peter Brock, will miss you mate- You are the greatest like Cassius Clay!
Its just goes to show you how fast he drives and gives you an insight into how fast he was going when he hit the tree that killed him, it wasn't a drivers error when he hit the tree though, this is unknown to many people but an older car came through there with leaking oil, with being in the rain it was slippery enough but when he hit the oil it was uncontrollable, not even him, the king of motorsport could have corrected it, this is all information from his co-driver, R.I.P Brocky!!
I am so grateful that my rally voulenteer friend decided to get married on saturday september 8 2006. If not we would have been road closure officials for the Targa west rally and this would have made Brocky's death even more upsetting. I can not begin to imagine the feeling out there the day of his death. You sit waiting for the next driver to pass within 2 mins of the last. When they dont show up, a sense of dread washes over you. R.I.P Sir Brocky!
he was fantastic at having extra marital affairs, but not so good at dodging those trees! :D
