My family the Pittam's, Lovell's, and Duncan's all played big rolls in the history of St. Joseph, MO. The Pittam's played a big part in building many of the old Cobble stone streets, as well as Krug Park and Wyatt Hill. They and the Lovell's were also the ones who dug the Dug Cut that was never finished because in the 1930's they paved Mac Arthur Road along the bottom of the river bluffs. I remember many many of the old long gone land marks. I was extremely disapointed on my last return .
Haven't been back to St. Joe in 43 years, plan on it this fall and enjoying the parks and all, can't wait but no till it cools downm and I live in Florida now!
Come visit lovely St. Joseph, Mo (just make sure anything of value is screwed to the ground or it'll be gone.)
