it works good on my iphone 3g ios 3. yes there will crash when i restart springboard, but wait until the battery empty and you recharge. (i always install cydia things, when my battery almost empty, so when it goes crash it would not take longet) it always running well after that

@seyalcops well unless your device is running 4.0+ and is a 3rd generation+, then you cant natively have a homescreen wallpaper without jailbreaking.

Im on iOS 3.1.3 (so, even on iPhone 3GS, no native wallpaper) and an iPod touch 1st gen (Doesn't even support 4.x+, but if it did, still wouldnt be enabled.)

restart device

update cydia

and press the search as it doesnt always show up automatically

get a new device? :P just kidding, but cydia is buggy and slow and is not permitted by apple so there is bound to be problems.

@missymisz89 is your a 8gb? if so its second gen. I reccomend watching another video about software called RedSn0w, it can activate the native wallpaper and/or multitasking, so you can use it without no need to go through all this. search, "activiate wallpaper on ipod touch 2g".

@Shadow36O what do you mean the pic is big? and if your device is the 3rd generation runnning 4.0+ you dont need to do this, just go into settings and set up a background from there since it is now supported by Apple.

@prinkgurl17 Nope, 2nd generation devices do not have background wallpaper or multitasking. You must activate them using 'ztoggler' (I think, i don't have a 2nd gen device) or use Redsnow on your computer.

@nataliedelavega297 try restarting the device by holding the power button and the home button until the apple logo appears, if not you may have to restore it in itunes. I had no problem using this background tweak.
