Will shot EJ because the DiMeras were forcing Sami to marry EJ to end the Brady and DiMera feud. Sami was married to Lucas at the time and Will was angry EJ was ruining their family and add to the fact Will found out EJ raped Sami in 2006 and then had to marry him.

@flipboidex EJ overheard a conversation between Will & his grandma right before his mom's vow renewal ceremony thing where he mentioned that he was having "feelings" that he couldn't get rid of. I'd bet that it made him curious & so he kept his eye on Will. then he saw Will talking to Sonny/Tyler & saw his strange behaviour around them & drew his own conclusions about it. when he hinted at it in this scene, Will's reaction pretty much confirmed it for him.

@3FromTheOutside I think it was around Christmas maybe it was the day of Sami's vow renewal ceremony when Will was in the town square with Marlana and he almost came out to her and EJ was in the background and overheard some of the conversation and was able to put it together.

I think it's been really subtle EJ snooping on Will. First he overheard Will telling Marlena he's confused. Then he witnessed Will hanging out with two gay mates and he kinda guessed at the conclusion. Remember before Gabi, Will was never known as a ladies man/boy and EJ has known him for years. I believed EJ hautedly implied that Will should talk to Marlena to "clear up" his confusion.

If you watched Part 51, EJ was eavesdropping on Will & Marlena’s conversation where Will is stating that he was having these feelings but didn’t go any further on the subject because of his mom renewing her vows. So EJ used that as leverage against Will.

I believe it is expected that Will is going to act out of character. It's a coming out. When I came out, I know I did and said crazy stupid shit that would never be associated with my normal behavior. It's the pressure and the stress... all building up inside of him. Despite the bad acting at times and the over-exaggerated scenes, I really do think this plot has been handled well... and that's something considering I normally hate US soaps because of their huge "corny" factors.

I am bewildered that people are actually happy that Will's "coming out" is being overshadowed by more nonsense. People are confused if they think dragging things on makes it more natural. In the land of soaps when a storyline is announced it usually happens soon. Will's gay storyline was presented in the beginning of the summer. And still really nothing has happened. I wouldnt be surprised if they never made Will gay after all.

No one is going to put Will in jail for something a criminal says he did as a minor. Will would have been at most 14 when his father, Lucas claimed he shot EJ (course it's a soap opera so he could have been 8 for all I know), AND EJ was shot in the back so how could he know who shot him? AND if I understand the timeline correctly Will was in Switzerland from 2007 to 2009, except for a brief time in the fall of 2007, and EJ was shot in winter of 2008, Will returned to Salem 3 months later

Though he first left the series in November 2007, it's entirely possible that he did shoot EJ. As for the back turned thing, as a DiMera, I'm sure he had people watching the church and EJ n Sami married on November 9, 2007, and EJ was shot at the altar!!! This isn't a re-write, it's factual!!!

I love that the writers have finally answered this question "Who really shot EJ in the back during the wedding in 2007?" When this first happened, many people believed it was Will and that Lucas only confessed in order to protect Will. And then Lucas went to jail, did his time and the matter was dropped but people still didn't buy it was Lucas who really shot EJ and they were right. Now years later, we get the real answer, it WAS Will all along who shot EJ.
I was positive that EJ would tell Will - after Will actually confessed to shooting EJ - that he invited him into the living room because he has it wired to record all conversations.
I've not watched this show but Will is only 19 or so, right? How old was he when
EJ was shot? He would not very likely face a stiff punishment even if he was convicted.

@flipboidex EJ overheard a conversation between Will & his grandma right before his mom's vow renewal ceremony thing where he mentioned that he was having "feelings" that he couldn't get rid of. I'd bet that it made him curious & so he kept his eye on Will. then he saw Will talking to Sonny/Tyler & saw his strange behaviour around them & drew his own conclusions about it. when he hinted at it in this scene, Will's reaction pretty much confirmed it for him.

@3FromTheOutside I think it was around Christmas maybe it was the day of Sami's vow renewal ceremony when Will was in the town square with Marlana and he almost came out to her and EJ was in the background and overheard some of the conversation and was able to put it together.

I knew this was going to end badly. Will is so messed up by his fears of coming out or being exposed to his friends and family that he is makeing horrible choices. This is what living a lie looks like people. It is one big fat mistake after another. When telling the truth although hard is a much better option. But these kind of mistakes are made by many closeted gay youth before they come out. FEAR @ IGNORANCE never is the right choice, but it sadly takes awhile 4 some 2 learn the lesson

Even though I find the scene here horrible.. I think it's been really subtle EJ snooping on Will. First he overheard Will telling Marlena he's confused. Then he witnessed Will hanging out with two gay mates and he kinda guessed at the conclusion. Remember before Gabi, Will was never known as a ladies man/boy and EJ has known him for years. I believed EJ hautedly implied that Will should talk to Marlena to "clear up" his confusion.

If you watched Part 51, EJ was eavesdropping on Will & Marlena’s conversation where Will is stating that he was having these feelings but didn’t go any further on the subject because of his mom renewing her vows. So EJ used that as leverage against Will.

I believe it is expected that Will is going to act out of character. It's a coming out. When I came out, I know I did and said crazy stupid shit that would never be associated with my normal behavior. It's the pressure and the stress... all building up inside of him. Despite the bad acting at times and the over-exaggerated scenes, I really do think this plot has been handled well... and that's something considering I normally hate US soaps because of their huge "corny" factors.

He was always nice, quiet, and studious - the opposite of his mom. Then he goes to college and starts drinking, tries to figure who he is, AND is still dealing with his evil mother. I don't think I liked this. Will is acting totally out of character and really, what use could EJ have for him? (especially since I think he still loves Sammi.) This just didn't play out very realistically, even for DAYS. Although the "a man of your disposition" line was very cool.
At least we had 13 minutes with the two hottest guys on the show!

I am bewildered that people are actually happy that Will's "coming out" is being overshadowed by more nonsense. People are confused if they think dragging things on makes it more natural. In the land of soaps when a storyline is announced it usually happens soon. Will's gay storyline was presented in the beginning of the summer. And still really nothing has happened. I wouldnt be surprised if they never made Will gay after all.

No one is going to put Will in jail for something a criminal says he did as a minor. Will would have been at most 14 when his father, Lucas claimed he shot EJ (course it's a soap opera so he could have been 8 for all I know), AND EJ was shot in the back so how could he know who shot him? AND if I understand the timeline correctly Will was in Switzerland from 2007 to 2009, except for a brief time in the fall of 2007, and EJ was shot in winter of 2008, Will returned to Salem 3 months later

Though he first left the series in November 2007, it's entirely possible that he did shoot EJ. As for the back turned thing, as a DiMera, I'm sure he had people watching the church and EJ n Sami married on November 9, 2007, and EJ was shot at the altar!!! This isn't a re-write, it's factual!!!

I love that the writers have finally answered this question "Who really shot EJ in the back during the wedding in 2007?" When this first happened, many people believed it was Will and that Lucas only confessed in order to protect Will. And then Lucas went to jail, did his time and the matter was dropped but people still didn't buy it was Lucas who really shot EJ and they were right. Now years later, we get the real answer, it WAS Will all along who shot EJ.
