Hello everyone. I have a Fender DEluxe 112 plus amp. The problem with it is that I cant get any sound from it. One day it just stopped working. I cn plug in some headphones and it works. Cna anyone tell what could be wrong with it? Is it an expensive fix. I really like this amp, so I am willing to fix it. Thanks if anyone can help.
this has been one of the most helpful videos I have seen since I started playing music 10 years ago. thanks man. I have a 85 Fender Montreux, its getting kinda notorious for this same thing, gonna do it this weekend
I had the exact same issue, it would cut out and i would tap it and it would work again. The problem got worse and worse until I hated playing through it. I watched your video and after I took mine apart I noticed the same solder was loose. I re-soldered and she works fine now! Thanks so much for this video. You saved me some hard earned dollars my friend! The last thing I wanna do right now is purchase another amp. Thanx for uploading this video!
Hi I have a fender dsp 65 princeton..and lately, I couldnt get to switch to dirty channel...and the DSP effects are off as well...I plugged a footswitch and it could do the switching..but still no DSP effects....do you think theres a problem with the Amp Channel Button?I popped the fuse a while back since Its a 110V unit..im thinking if it might have damaged the circuits..have you encountered this problem before? Thanks a million man!
Those are ceramic power resistors. Another thing which may be causing this is the resistor acts like a mass on a spring (the leads). These resistors may have a mechanical resonant frequency somewhere in the range of your playing leading to fatigue cracking of the joints. I fixed a friend's Peavey Classic 30 which uses tubes hung upside down next to the speaker. Vibe from the speaker caused cracking in many of the tube socket solder joints.

I saw ur video and wanted to see if I could pick ur brain. Have a squier bp-15 that someone gave me. He did not know what was wrong with it. After taking it apart have figured out what it is but I do not know what the part is called or where to get it replaced. Was hoping I could post a pic or something and you might know more. Thanks! Sugaree

Just replaced those on my Hotrod Deville. The reason they go bad is because the leads are bent too close to the body of the resistor. This cracks the internals and causes the stress on the solder joints. If they go bad again buy new ones and mount them away from the board. Message me if there are any questions. Love the vids man. Keep it up.
@walkindude72 Thanks for the info man. Appreciate that. Since doing this minor repair the amp sounds so much better. I think just opening it up and blowing out what little dust was in there helped a ton.
