  • I"M INSANE!

  • Ah, childhood memories.....

  • Somehow, even though I was 2 at the time, I totally remember this! Miss Molly was awesome.

  • it's like baby sheep at church...

  • OK...my facebood name is Doobie which is my childhood nickname. The bee on this show's name is Doobie. That's where it comes from.

  • Man, brings back memories...I remember singing the theme song with my mom on the couch when I was like 3 or 4 :)

  • Freak*

  • Kimbal use to fread me out as a child

  • If a kids show called Romper Room came out today people would be outraged and say its sexual and there would be a ban on it. For real! That is how ridiculous this country is now.

  • YES YES....I SOOOOO REMEMBER THIS. Ahhhhh. This was back with life was so much simpler.

  • This brings me back to my elementary school days. The girls wore dresses, and the boys wore pants. Times were different. Memories!

  • This is reality T.V. before the current advent of reality T.V. No rehearsals, no scripts.

  • I don't even remember this show. But it was so nice to see something that's so obviously unrehearsed. It's like if someone took a camera and filmed the school aged group in a daycare.

  • i bet the little kids in the show are now messed up cuz of this show!

  • My sisters did an episode of this show in the 70's as kids.

  • How come there is no audio?

  • I forgot about how much I loved this show!

  • Heehee, this is the Romper Room that I grew up with :) It was shown on KTVU here in the Bay Area, which has been the FOX affiliate since the network's debut in 1987 :)

  • I AM ABOUT TO INTRODUCE MY CHILDREN TO ROMPER ROOM,MR. ROGERS,KAPTAIN KANGAROO,AND BOZO THE CLOWN, OLD SCHOOL TV, THEY ALREADY LOVE SESAME STREET,SUPERMAN, THE LONE RANGER,THE THUNDER CATS,HE-MAN(THE ORIGINAL),ANDSPEED RACER. TIME FOR SOME OLD SCHOOL STYLE INDOCTRINATION OF "GOOD TELEVISION"!!!

  • Oh wow! I used to watch this show a lot as a kid.

  • @TheAltair4

Me too, we are sort of alike.

  • I grew up watching this show. back in 1979 when i was in kindegarten. They really need classic TV to come back

  • i remember this very well

  • This hostess seemed to get aggravated at the kids a lot.

  • So cathcy

  • this brings back a LOT of memories I grew up with this when I was a kid!

  • Am I the only who thought that Do Bee was one scary son of a bitch?

  • now this is the opening I remember!!!!

  • My big sister and I were on the show in NY back in either 1980 or 1981. I am always on the lookout to see if any clips will contain the two of us. I found out about the taping over the current videotape and was just totally devastated as there are NO recordings of our episode. But it's nice to know that there are a lot of us Romper Room alumni that cherish these clips.

  • Miss Molly was also the voice of Granny Cat

  • I haven't seen the opening in 25 years, but as soon as I did I remembered it word for word.

  • OMG....i remember this show when i was a lil girl.

    awwww that was the days

  • Between this show, Mister Rogers, Sesame street, & Electric Comany Im pretty sure I learned everything I needed to know for Kindergarten. There aren't enough shows aimed at preschoolers that teach the basics anymore. I let my son watch Nick Jr which is fine, but something is missing.

  • You never see shows like this on TV any more, for TV is worthless and meaningless to all people.

  • @CatmanfromPA

Uhh. While I loved Romper Room too, I can't help but feel a little insulted. Don't speak for me, or for anyone one else for that matter.

  • Wow that theme song brings back memories locked away some 30 years. I'm a Bergen County, NJ native, myself, and I remember WOR's (before they became WWOR) programming quite well. Howard Stern on Saturday nights if I could sneak out to watch TV late, hehe.

  • You be a Doobie????

  • Im 32 years old and i remember romper room like it was yesterday .... CRAZY

  • :'-) Memories! I'm still looking for Doo Bee's Dance. I've been thinking about that song.

  • Wow!!!I wish i had the lyrics to the theme song..

  • I thought there was some type of Jack In The Box on this show. I remember when I was a kid thinking that the box was some kind of Jack In The Box mechanism. I was terrified of it, and that Box mechanism used to give me nightmares.

How I wanted to destroy that thing when I was a child. It funny how the mind plays tricks on you. I remember the music being different too. Maybe they changed it

  • There was a Jack in the Box in the opening and closing titles during the Mary Anne Pederson local era on WOR-TV. When they launched this national version, that was scrapped.

  • I remember this use to come on right after Mr Moons Magic Circus...DAMN!..talk about childhood flashbacks..,but good flashbacks!!!!

  • Oh my gosh, this song!! this is the song I cant get outta my head. man I miss this SHOW! me and David used to watch this all of the time.

  • Pedophile are you?

  • I used to watch this all the time when we still had WOR 9 in NJ. Back then it was Garden State Cable, not Comcast.

  • omg i cant thank u enuff 4 posting this vid!

  • IT ONLY TOOK HER 72 EPISODES TO SAY MY NAME! I see Adam, Fred, Jenny, Richard. Allisa...

  • I'm all warm and tingly inside, seeing this again, after so many years!! Nostalgia overload!! I REALLY think this is the Canadian intro, because, living in Canada, this is the one I MOST remember seeing. But...I could be wrong, of course.

  • doo-bee... hmmm

  • WOW! Total flashback! I miss these shows :( They sure don't make childrens programing like they used too anymore. Thanks for posting some of these sweet chidhood memories mammer90.

  • Kimbal game me nightmares as a child

  • my mom was gonna have me on this show- but i said fuck too much when i was this age

  • It's high time to Bring Back Romper Room!!!!

I am getting sick and tired of those worthless Infomercials!!!

  • @Pookatube nah it would suck if they bought it back to tv trust me back in the day was always better lol

  • The Canadian version had a hotter host. Oh Miss Fran... the things I would do to you.

  • its funny how all these people in this episode are the same age as me now hahaha

  • i loved this show when i was little

  • Loved this show. Main thing I remember was that "Doo-Bee" character.

    Ah, memories. ^^

  • im 41,and i grew up in rockaway, new jersey, and i would watch this show,it was early 1970's when i watched it.when she looked in the 'magic' mirror and said she saw different kids, and she would start calling out names i would get mad because she never mentioned my name

  • im 31 now, a perfect morning would be a bacon and egg sandwich, made by grandma a tall glass of oj after watching this the good old days

  • I dont know what the hell I saw in this show, but I do remember it :)

  • Is that Justin Timberlake?

  • thanks for posting! i saw this show ALL the time!! i still remember the words to the theme song.. i'm 32 , btw

  • I wonder if they'll put this on DVD with better qauilty.

  • They planning to bring the show back very soon.

  • Yeah, I hope so, 'cause I know just who'd be the perfect host. One must wonder, however, how desperate Flavor Flav is for work?

  • Well they better keep it close to its format. Very simple and natural.

  • wow. I am 28 years old.. I remember this show!!!! Thanks for posting!

  • XD me too, but not the same age 23.

  • I never did understand the title of this show. The room has friends?

  • There are random kids (friends) on stage who watch the proceedings and then at the end of the show, the host looks through a mirror and talks to all the friends who are watching from home.

  • Thank you! This was SO my childhood!

  • Holy shit balls. Talk about flooding memories coming back WOW

  • Now that's the opening I remember, the one with the hot air balloon. However, Miss Nancy was on whenever I watched the show; maybe it was a West Coast thing.

  • Wonderful Memories!! I watched Romper Room/Romper Room and Friends all the time along with The Magic Garden. Wish they still made childrens shows like this.

  • My brother was on this show. He is the kid wandering around in front of the large group of kids in the beginning of the show.

  • how did both of you guys get on the show? that's cool.

  • I think my parents took us down to the wor studio and we tried out or something and we got selected to be on. I really do not remember too much of the interview process.

  • Your parents must had a lot of chutzpah to take you guys to Times Square back when the WOR studios were "above" a porno theater. I remember the Romper Room set was backstage and the news set was in front.

In case you're asking where's the Joe Franklin set, I remember the news set was covered with a curtain & some props.

Thanks for posting what could be the only copies of the program. Sadly, the station reused the same videotape to record new shows. None of the Romper Rooms were saved.

  • Wow. I did not know that. I kind of remember a news set now that you mention it.

The only copies of the program, really??? Again, wow! Well they will be saved forever on youtube and my hard drive and I will back up on DVD as well.

  • Make sure you make plenty of backups to preserve the Romper Room shows forever. I'm sure they are many more that may have tapes of more Romper Room shows. We need to get more rare shows from the WOR days.

  • @nynewsguy7 Seriously!? Those cheap bastards!

  • @mammer90 Lol, I was about to say "whats with that kid?" hehe

  • @mammer90 your bro is the dude that scratches his butt @1:02 ?!?!?!? LOL too funny man!!!!

where was this show recorded at? I always wanted to be on it... haha

  • @booboohead76 Yeah, guess he did scratch his butt...:). It was recorded in downtown, NYC.

  • Wow, this really brings back memories! I used to watch this version of Romper Room and Friends all the time when I was a little kid back in the 80s, back when we used to get WOR Channel 9 on our cable.
