  • Different car - That was a more modern 4G15. This is the 60's derived Hemi 1.6 SOHC (Surprised it even had OHC) It's rated redline is 5900 RPM.

I also had a 1991 Excel (Pony X2), not as strong a car. I redlined it once, and then would not go over 4,000 RPM. 377,000 Kilometers on it tho.

  • my pony 1.5gls from 92 with Mitsubishi engine did 7300rpm :)

  • it is a factory option that was super rare. This car was a CX(GL) model, that had a big clock where the tach was supposed to go, but I took it out of a 1987 1400GLS.

I don't have it anymore, gave it to a friend.

The gauge closest to the tach is a Lada Samara ECON gauge... the stock temp gauge broke so I replaced it with a BMW inspired, soviet-derived vacuum economy gauge.

I have Stellar2 backlit gauges in my other Pony (speedo and tach)

  • hahaha nice u can never kill a pony i got a pony and ive treid so meny times to kill it but it just keeps coming back home lol
