  • is kettlebell better or not?

  • imagine if you accidentally hit your ankle with that...

  • you know someone's a good trainer when they workout in flip flops with their dog.

  • um, im a gay man. does my boyfriend spot me from the front.... or the rear?

  • @TacoVilla both

  • this doesnt train the arm btw. you push with the legs and stabilize with the core.

so it is a full-body power/cardio workout. i prefer doing these after training to totally exhaust myself. but i do them with a squat movement, i dont just keep my legs static.

  • Great exercise, dude. Keep them coming if you have any more. Thank you.

  • great description buddy, keep on good work.

  • Good techquie , fuk the faggots who r watchn what u wore instead of watchn the technique. Propss

  • You can also INHALE on effort. I use to exhale on the way up, but found the movement works better if I inhale.

  • I was thinking the same thing before I read other comments. Dude do you have a death wish. Let's see flip flops and loose weights.

  • This wont make me big will it?

  • imagine if he hits himself in the balls OUCH!

  • Hmmm - wearing flip-flops, a dog wandering about, loose rattling weight plates - be grateful you're only scrawny rather than actually injured!

  • @shardennefroider its actually better to exercise in flip flops than with shoes.

  • weight for ur dumbell in KG?

  • This is how you dress to work out? Flip Flops? How can anyone take you serious?

  • Excellent instructions and demonstration.

    Thanks!

  • thanks! needed to know this :)

  • My abs hurt just watching this.

    I can't wait :)

  • with respect to you...

the exercise is for hamstring, glutes, back muscles. what is called the posterior chain. your abs contract to stabalize you as you do it.

i'm stabbing in the dark here but there might be some benefit to the serratus anterior as well.

  • I know the power comes from the hip drive. But I already work my posterior chain significantly through deadlifts, so it appears to be something that I would 'feel' more in my core, because I never have to stabilize a weight through this range of motion.

  • also don't go past your shoulders if you can generate that much speed go up then go up in weight

  • Nice job. The dumbell swing is NOT a substitute for a kettlebell swing, using a different tool. It is a unique exercise all its own. You do a great job of showing this exercise as a stand-alone exercise, and not just something to do if you don't have a kettlebell.

  • @idahokettlebells Why is that?

  • any difference with doing these and using two hands?

  • core activation

  • great will try !

  • i just did about 10 and couldnt keep doing it - thanks man :)

  • i was thinking about doing 10 minute swings and a 20 min push pull circuit 4 days a week would i be over doing it

  • what part of the body/arm does this work?

  • It's powered by the legs, channeled through the core, and controlled with the arms - a full-body exercise.

  • @johnsifferman hey good stuff, did you learn this from arthur saxons book?

  • @comradesbl

    what book would that be.

  • Thanks. :)

  • you could also try bringing it all the way above your head with a locked elbow, this is the way i do it
