if this happened before 1995 mika wudnt be here now, massive safety came into F1 after senna's death, u cud say senna saved mika life cuz if senna didnt have that crash all the safety that came in for the end of 1994 and start of 1995 seasons wouldnt have happeed
@ShrewdShade I wouldn' be surprised if the events you described here really did take place. But then again, only Mika himself knows what happened. Ask him.
I remember this morning almoust if would happend yesturday. It was horrible morning.
That time I was 15 years an old and great fan.
And you can imagine that feeling when Mika won that first Championship at Suzuka......After so bad accident nobody really believed he could come back or be quickest them all. But he did. HE DID!
This is the Adelaide old layout, today, after the curve when Schumacher and Hill collided in 1994, has cut a great part of the track and the big straight has cut to the half, losing the speed battles. But is a great circuit.
i was 5 years old when they raced there... i still can remember watching this race, but not the details... i also can remember playing this track on F1 '95 :P
Ehkäpä kyse oli järkytyksestä kuitenkin, tuohon maailmanaikaan kun Formuloita ei tunnettu turvallisuudestaan - Sennan kuolemahan niitä turvatoimia alkoi vasta oikeasti kiristämään.
It's natural that you come out a better driver after a crash. Because when you have a big crash you feel a lot of horror. That will make you feel safer when you drive because you know where the limit is.
Mika, has always thanked the Australian medical teams for saving his life, what makes him such a legend is that he went back to racing after he overcame his injuries.
It should be said that the speed in which Hakkinen was attended to was superb. I don't just necessarily mean getting to the scene of the crash, but also how quickly he was stretchered into the back of that ambulance to move onto the Medial Facilites. Sid Watkins and his team deserve a hell of a lot of credit.
Had the wheel, suspension bar or what ever it was, not hit him in the head he could have been fit to race within relatively short time!
The g-loads alone would have bruised him allover, but if Kubica could take the 70+ g's of his crash in Montrael i think Senna - famous for being a frontman in fitness - could have to...even with out HANS!
Ennen Formuloissa tapahtui kaikkee ja ei tullut maksukanavilta. Nykyään toisinpäin

Whats all your opinions on this track? I was too young to watch f1 when they raced here.
Isit still used in other formulae?
I can kind of remember it on F1 '95 for the playstation.

Crashes make you stronger. Mika learnt a lot from this and became a strong man to win the championship.

Tuohon aikaan ei ollut edes HANS-niskatukia, joten pää tuossa aika lailla paiskautui reunasta toiseen. :(

its weird how hakkinen had this crash and came back better
schumacher crashed at silverstone and broke both his legs and came back better
imagine what would have happened if senna had survived
fordrule888 3 years ago 11
i think Senna, if survived, would have taken many years to recover...the severity of the accident even if he lived would have been apparent...

Also remember there were some very nasty crashes at Tamburello before that, where people lived to race again shortly after!
Had the object not him in the head, he would have won in 95, 96 and 97 had he stayed with Williams!
What a way to finish his career but that was not meant to be!

Perkele soikoon. Mustakiikari päätteli aika näppärästi noista renkaanjäljistä, että auto oli hypännyt. Ei onnistuis enää.

Huh? Please translate. The only word i understand here is "perkele" ;-)
lindand 2 years ago
Free-form translation (not word to word)
0:10: Häkkinen has crashed! What happened?
0:20: Looks really serious
0:30: If you drive over the border, car will fly. Tyre prints tell that Mika made quite a jump over the border and crashed.
0:55: Mika can't stand up himself
1:20: Seems that he lost brakes
2:10: Staff of McLaren follows really seriously what's happening, like we do as well
2:30: It had to be a technical failure, because Mika had so much speed on the corner
RedPetrol76 2 years ago 3
