  • "It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here."

  • whats that equation at the end?

  • @tacomansfriend123 - Chemistry either a hydrogen ion or H3O+.

If you google it though it also means transhumanism, which underlies augmenting humans among other things.

  • It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here.

  • Replay button broke...

  • /v/'s GOTYAY way to go guys

  • sucks that most of this isnt in game but still the best trailer for the game

  • 4:22 - Rihanna

  • its a shame game trailers make games look extremely better than when you actually play it, not saying that the game is bad

  • Press 2

  • @redquoter - Press 2 to cut out the fluff.

  • 1:00

  • the esthetics of the game are supposed to represent the renaissance a renaissance in technology and science just like the renaissance from before.

  • 1 dislike from the guy who got owned through the wall

  • the ending dissapointed me.

  • who knew she was Russian?

  • Movie please. Now.

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MT MONEY, SQUARE!

  • I didn't ask for this, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Is it possible to take an arrow to the knee in this game?

  • @mirobr Why would one want to become a town guard in Deus Ex?

  • @mirobr yes, an exploding arrow. He never asked for this...

  • I haven't played any of the previous games but im very interested in this serious. Am i going to be lost if i buy this? Is it even worth my money?

  • @pillmatik You don't need to play the previous games to enjoy this at all. This is a prequel anyway.

  • @pillmatik I didn't play the original, it was before I got into RPGs

This is WELL worth it. I had tons of fun playing it and watching the story unfold.

  • Love Square Enix

  • lamento decir que la industria del cine en pocos años sera superada por maravillas como esta, espero que sigan creando juegos tan bien realizados y con un buen guion.

  • god damn it, i can't choose, either icarus from deus ex or the main theme of batman arkahm city (both original scores) on the vgas :C

  • This game asks the really difficult questions we will one day face when the technology of Human Augmentation gets to the point where an augmented eye or limb is superior to a natural human appendage.

  • 1 person is a ghost who is always in shadow and hiding behind lies and proxy soldiers

  • -best game

    -epic music

    -great story

  • I never asked for this.

    But I should have!

  • at 0:42 to 0:50 i believe i can fly

  • maybe god play this game ..

  • There's only 2 things I hated about this game:

    1. 3/4 of the scenes just showed are NOT in the actual game.

    2. Not so important, but the graphics arent near this.

  • This game's gonna look silly when we get to 2027 (if the world doesn't end next December).

  • Bob Page did not like this

  • if only the game actually looked that good. Loved the game but graphics were dated

  • "corporations have more power then the covernment"...and its 2011 lol...

  • Two of the best quotes ever from a game!

"If you want enemies, try to change something."

"It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here."

  • @UndercoverCracker Umm...Not to burst your bubble or anything like that...But "If you want enemies, try to change something." isn't from HR, it's a quote from Woodrow Wilson.

  • after watching this.. it's a shame to see that so many things were cut out of the game...

  • @jozh911

    Like what?

  • @jozh911 I agree. Maybe Squeenix will give Eidos more time for any hypothetical sequels.

  • @SteelFyire i hope so, i really enjoyed the hell out of this game,, and wished there could've been a bit more of a personal explanation of adam. he felt somewhat shallow, but i loved him as a character, wanted to know more about him

  • @SteelFyire god I hope so >.<

  • @jozh911

It's true, I was quite disappointed after finishing the game then rewatching this trailer. It's not a bad game by a long shot, but definitely isn't what the developers intended. The ending was definitely rushed which is a shame, and the bosses were not given enough time to truly develop into characters with their own motives, reasons, etc. Can only hope for a sequel worthy of their original vision.

  • @FaithlessFate87 indeed, thankfully Eidos has said to expect more installments with Adam :D

  • @jozh911 what a shame

  • @jozh911 you never played the original?

  • @Antonio13NUNES no :/.. but i get the references in the game

  • @jozh911 You havent then play it, The original Deus Ex is one of the best games ever if not THE best game ever, at least the best RPG.

  • @Antonio13NUNES I will most definitely check it out

  • @jozh911 Can't agree more...

The scene where Adam is in the rocket so seek the sun per exemple... ingame he uses the rocket for something different...

I think this is the BEST trailer I've ever seen... but the game is not that good... :(

  • @catlitta yeah, the trailer was amazing

I REALLY liked the game though

  • @jozh911 like yes... but not adore...

the trailer is legend stuff.. the gme is not

  • @catlitta indeed! (lol mass effect 2 reference)

  • @jozh911 i think the reason they cut so much was for DLC, and i think square forced them into it. edos normally doesn't do the whole DLC thing a whole lot, but square is trying to compete with companies it can't compete with.

  • @keichimorisato98 idk.... all of it seamed more like it was focused around the main story, i'm not sure if these cinematic's would fit wit future dlc, if eidos is even considering future dlc

    cadaver weapons ftw

  • @jozh911 it already happened it has quite a bit of DLC actually more augmentations more side quests and an entire section of the game that was taken out that would give the game an extra 2 3 hours of gameplay or so. it involves when benson got on the boat and when into cryogenic sleep he wakes up and he has to help some people on it and what not.

  • @jozh911 look at steam you'll see it

  • @keichimorisato98 main reason is becuz it makes money . if a game is good people want more, the more they want the more money the company gets. it snot competition or that bullshit, its called supply and demand. we demand they supply, most simple form of money making there is honestly

  • Thumbs up!best espionage game than mgs, should make it into movie!

  • like if you think this should be made into a CGI movie!

  • One of the most impressiv trailers of all time. i'll never stop looking...

  • I didn't ask for this.

  • Why in god's name doesn't this game have multiple CQCs for multiple batteries like MGS peace walker?!! It would look like this trailer! Which could've been AWESOME!!!

  • The Icarus idea was in the game, not as a rendered scene but Darrow described himself as Daedalus watching Icarus crashing into the sea, hence Icarus being in the trailer because it was a concept not a direct piece of game play. The trailer is supposed to show the concept and world behind the storyline.

Still the only thing that's really missing was Fedorova gunning down a crowd, idk why not because from what Eliza says its something she would do.

  • And why was none of this in game?

If they put half the effort into making the game fun that they put into making these trailers this would have been a masterpiece. This game was trailer eyecandy, period.

  • @DeathguardianVIII Everything in this trailer is in the game, the actual scene rendering is a little differant but all the story aspects like the chopper crash, miniguns in arms, Jensen getting pwned and the rest of its all in the game.

  • @Tuberuser187 Actually no, the whole Icarus idea wasn't in game, the whole Barret thing was completely different. So was the female boss (I forget her name), she was never in the streets shooting people. Jensen was in a different location and him being separated from uh.. yeah, I forget her name too, I'm pretty bad with names. Anyhow, the scenes were in different settings, and even then, they should have spent more time on the actual graphics and not trailers.

  • @DeathguardianVIII Yelena doesn't do that ingame, but how do you know that isn't meant to be extra footage that we don't see in the game... not everything in a trailer has to be ingame

  • @holyfajitas

    Late reply, sorry.

Yes, obviously it doesn't HAVE to be in the game, what I was saying is they should have had these scenes in the game. They put so much effort into making them for just a trailer, when the actual game was lacking. The trailers for this game were better than the actual game sadly.

  • @DeathguardianVIII

the trailers for this game were so much better than the actual game, and that´s a poor commercial strategy if you ask me.

  • @Tuberuser187 Yeah, but in a much less-epic way.

  • Now THIS! is a Game Trailer Ladies and gentlemen :D

  • Am i the only one that thinks "Riots Continue" are some pretty lame "Breaking news" ?

  • *have seen

    Whoops...

  • Sorry if this has been answered already, ad nauseum, but where the hell are these cut scenes in the game? I would've loved to see this displayed on my HDTV. I'm a little over halfway done with my first playthrough, and the stuff I have scene is different from this or missing entirely. Was this just a promo piece for the various video game conferences?

  • @Ninkyo893 These cutscenes aren't really in the game. Some of the scenes and dialogue come from scenes in the game, but the CGI work was done just for this trailer.

  • if only the in-game graphics or atleast the cutscenes were as good as this...

  • The game is cool, but not this cool.

  • It's not the end of the world but you can see it from here.

  • 0:30 I guess Rembrandt's reaction would be something between proud and wtf. Personally I think that was a great idea to mix baroque aesthetics with modern technology without falling into "steampunk" weirdness.

  • Gee, this doesn't remind me of Ghost in the Shell one little bit...

  • @iamthewankerpants Oh right, good catch. I had forgotten that Ghost in the Shell was the first series ever on any form of media to deal with the subject of transhumanism. Forget Isacc Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke.

  • @MasterCheifn343 I'm aware of the others who have also created great works based on this type of genre. However, I found many striking resemblances between this and Ghost in the Shell. The arm gun, which looks strikingly similar to one from the first season of GitS SAC. The "Thermoptic" camouflage, their own take on the eye modifications one saw on Batou's eyes in Ghost in the Shell. Congrats on missing the point entirely.

  • @iamthewankerpants You are right to notice the similarities, and for the sake of everyone reading, let me point out that they are _Intentional_. The first Deus Ex drew heavily on GitS for inspiration, with the GEP gun (rocket launcher) being identical to the weapon Batou uses at the end of the first movie. It only makes sense that Human Revolution would do the same.

  • @Roselite Thanks for that info. It is cool to know that they drew from something as great as GitS.

  • @MasterCheifn343 It's one the first ones with a distinct visual style.

  • Who knew Rihanna was an Aug?

  • who here thinks well be at this point if you do like this im just curious

  • Well, damn. I'm sold.

  • ghost in the shells, anyone?

  • Yeah I really don't see giant robots and radical changes in fashion being adopted within the next 20 years. Modern robots can barely walk three feet without falling over and catching fire.

Im sure people were saying the same things about computers and cell phones 20 years ago, but this is kind of a stretch.

  • @Stantzs Cellphones couldn't do much in the 80's. In the 90's they became more portable and usable.

In the 2000's; they became a prominent media device.

We're in the 80's of robotics, lets give it the benefit of the doubt.

  • @OneEyeX For sure, AI is just around the corner, human interface devices already exist.....only a matter of time before we see robotic soldiers. The ones they test clothing on for biological resistance look scary/

  • @Stantzs its not a huge stretch. we probably wont be at this point, but good bionic limbs and eyes may very well exist by then. technology is advancing faster every year. there is a false leg with a processor and a motor in it that enables those people to walk up stairs, stand up from sitting and other things much like the rest of us. it should be on the market in 1-2 years. that may not sound like much but previous models didn't even come close.

  • @Stantzs

you don't see radical changes in fashion being adopted within the next 20 years?

  • I love the last quote, "It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here."

    Chilling.

  • Wow.

  • Human augmentation, technological and biological *is* the future of humanity.

  • What's gonna happen when greedy corporations will will have more power than governments? It's coming.

  • @tunecci ... Greedy corporations own most governments. Governments have debts. Corporations have money.

  • @aesaphyr Perfect example is the bailout. What about the people who lost their jobs, lost their homes, lost everything, when are they gonna get bailed out? Grr.

  • Holy. Usually despise CGI trailers, but this was incredible.

  • I read an article yesterday claiming that video games have "no plot in the traditional sense" and I have heard numerous times that video games are not art. This trailer alone is proof otherwise.

  • @lordofengmar lol who the fuck said that should be shot. Rez back to life, and shot again.

  • @lordofengmar I agree with you but it's ironic that the "proof" is a video, not a game..

  • 1.43: "The name of the place...is Babylon 5."

  • I think what impresses me most about this is Square Enix's involvement with a game that has a storyline that's different from every other game they work on.

  • So... the voice actors for Woods and Shepard from Black Ops? Seems kind of weird, but okay. Was that the Half-life 2 pistol sound effect I heard when the riot police were shooting at the crowds?

  • The creator of the soundtrack for this game deserves a medal.

  • Penny Arcade. Damn straight.

  • This trailer is incredible. I love it. All on it's own, makes me want to buy the game. Nice!

  • Do you have to play any of the previous games to understand this one?

  • @XMorpheus3000 No, but there are a number of references to characters and events of the original DX in this game, including a surprisingly prophetic hobo who talks about a deadly plague that will sweep over the land like a gray shadow. You will not miss out on anything integral to the game for having not played the original, but if you do you'll see things gain importance where they were seemingly irrelevant before. Also, you should totally play the original, it's just $10 on Steam.

  • @Maktaka9 Thanks for the reply Maktaka9. I'm probably gonna sound like a noob, but I don't really know anything about steam except that it's got something to do with video games. Also, aren't there two previous games?

  • @XMorpheus3000 Steam is a program you can use to buy games on, and it's the way most PC users get their games(assuming the games are on Steam, most are.). You can get stuff for very cheap when there's sales on.

It also has a chat function and other such things.

  • @XMorpheus3000 No dude. This is a prequel, so...you can have a fresh start! Just beat it two days ago, never bought the first one and damn well enjoyed and understood every bit of it.

  • Penny Arcade!!

  • Time to start investing in neck ruffs I guess.

  • Nice homage to Rembrandt there at 0:28.

  • Anybody ever hear of Alex Jones? Big libertine conspiracy theorist. Not saying I agree with him, but the story looks kind of like something he would get in to. Anybody know if the people who made it are big fans?

  • the game universe looks rad but it's a shame the main character is so... so incredibly clichéd. Also, lol conspiracy theory shit.

  • @Gaiacarra

It's not a legitimate conspiracy theory put into a game, it's just a story. I doubt the creators of the first game sincerely believed the Illuminati were a couple guys hanging out in a French penthouse either.

  • there is no way i will ever play a pacifist run in this game. I's to easy to be a badass.

  • My pants, they need to be changed.

    Also, was that Rhianna?

  • Heavily focus-grouped black-clad antihero whining "I didn't ask to be this cool and edgy, kids!" in his heavily focus-grouped gravelly voice. Yawn.

  • @WindupAtheist If you checked out some of the actual gameplay, its more than that, and he doesn't even have to be an anti-hero, at least I haven't gotten that vibe in my game so far. But just a different opinon, fair enough.

  • @skyknight2003 If you've ever participated in any games industry market research then you'll know that this guy is a direct product of it. Companies aren't even asking if players want angsty and edgy heroes anymore, they're just asking how angsty/edgy they want them.

  • @freeeekyyy The world is changing completely as we speak. In sixteen years, the world we live in today will be nothing more than a memory. Just as how the 90's are just a memory to us right now.

  • I won't lie, this trailer left my shit in ruins.

  • Tycho Brahe brought me here.

  • @Xdestroyer6 xD PA for the win!

  • I hate game trailers that don't show any gameplay footage.

  • .....

    I came :p

  • Eh, I think I'll pass. I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3 more.

  • Goddamn.

  • Uhhhhhh. Woa.

  • I like to imagine that this and ghost in the shell happen in the same universe.

  • @porksterbob And I'll be first in line to accept augmentation. If we have the tech why not use it.

  • @CrashB111 In the storyline of Deus Ex, augments must have some kind of expensive immune suppressant to prevent them from rejecting the cybernetics. Of course the companies are too large dicks to make it in large quantities, and the government is too much in their pocket to circumvent the resulting dependency on the companies. But yeah I'd like to imagine that Deus Ex' Europe simply made that immune suppressant a social right and they're just sitting there peacefully through the entire game.

  • @philip1201 No they would just use bio-compatible materials. It wouldn't reject for the same reason the titanium screws in dental implants don't reject (the bone actually bonds to the screw to hold it in the jawbone). also by the time you can create cybernetics that advanced and extensive they'll probably also have mastered biology and genetic engineering as well.

  • @Atomicskull I didn't write the trailer: watch?v=uGzpzlvf0Gs

Titanium is very unique in that respect, and it can't be used to interact with nerves or connect with muscles. Titanium attachments may be possible without immune response, but it's possible that by 2026, they won't have found materials which can interact with nerves and be strong enough to cause improvements without causing an immune rejection response.

  • @Atomicskull Also, even if the human genome was understood to such an extent that genetic engineering of humans would be possible by 2026, it's biologically impossible to change the genetic structure of more than a few cells, so any genetically altered humans would be children.

  • by the time this was over i realized my jaw was almost touching my desk.... want...

  • @freeeekyyy Humans tend to overestimate the amount of change that will occur in 5 years and underestimate the amount of change in 10.

  • @freeeekyyy the world? no. a place? easily.

for a setting, look at dubai in 1995, and now in 2011.

i can hold in my hand today i device that can access vast quantities of information in seconds, tell me where i am, where my friends are, where my money where, where anything is, where it is going, what is happening, where, why, .....

in 1995 i could hold a cd player.

  • @ryanrule2 1985 I could carry a tape player, in 1975 it was a personal radio... Tech advances in leaps and bounds, there is no reason to believe that the trailor above isn't possible.. That said, must get this game.

  • @ryanrule2 Well Fuck... *_* that was profound, no bullshit

  • @ryanrule2 There's a vast difference between developing high-tech devices inside and outside of the body, the latter is far more dangerous and hard to accomplish from ethical to technological reasons.

Also, structurally on the macro-scale change doesn't come as fast as Dubai 95-11 on average. Sure, you could rebuild a lot of cities, but most of the world would remain relatively unchanged.

  • Absolutly Amazing!!! - Great song!!! and Epic history!!

  • SO FUCKIN` EPICCCCCCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jesus Christ this is so epic.

If there was ever a Cinematic Trailer released that could sell a game on strength of content alone, it'd be this one for sure.

    FUCKING EPIC !!!

  • I'm a little surprised they created this many assets for just a cinematic trailer.

  • @Rambowjo2 You and me both brother.

This shit is amazing looking, no?

  • @Rambowjo2 Probably because they knew a cinematic trailer this good would move a whole helluva lot of units.

  • GOTYAY

  • I don't even know whose side I'm on.

  • I'll never stop looking.

  • Thumbs up if you never asked for this

  • WE DIDN'T ASK FOR THIS!
