i never was a sf hater, in fact i like the alpha series and SF3 series. But to my opinion, I always found KOF to be a better game, personally. To each their own opinion, but I will be done with my SSF4 once this is out.
Really. It is probably because Street Fighter is starting to get old. I like Street Fighter and grew up playing it, but after all of the Street Fighter 4 re-releases I am getting tired of it. KOF 13 looks more stylish and fast paced. Plus playing against Shotoken characters online 90 percent of the time just bores the hell out of me.
I don't see something new, they need to bring this game with new engine like Street fighter, look where SF stands now... (thumbs me down if you don't agree, I don't care)

Cant wait to pre order this for ps3. KOF is great! Great style, Hand drawn sprites, and generally just more fun than other fighting games of this generation imo. Im still loving KOF 12 till this drops.
Just because KOF wasn't a Big HIT in the US dosen't mean in wasn't a big hit else where. If KOF were a Failure as some peep put it, then we wouldn't of have KOF 94-2003, XI, XII, and XIII now would we. I'd choose KOF over SF any day. No offense to SF (Kool Game BTW.)

Has anybody seen this game live? i mean, does anybody can tell me if the graphics resolution is still as bad as in KOF XII or have SNK fixed that problem? i think that's my major concern of this game.

King of fighters is a really good and balaced game. But a nice street fighter match is great too. I prefer capcom. KOF I can only play for about 5 hours, Capcom games I can go up to 10 or 12. Damn I am a freaking loser I have no life lol

You should try out KOF 2002 Unlimited Match if you can play imports or try out KOF Dream Match 2002 or Dream Match 98. KOF 11 is great too. Just some more suggestions.
the king of fighters xiii has the best 2d graphics i've ever seen. the animations are smooth and definitely, top notch. i hope that this game will correct the mistakes of kof xii.

I knew this one would be better. With XII they focused most of their attention on the new engine and animation, but now that thats ironed out, they can focus on the new characters and modes and gameplay. I cant wait!

You know what. I HATE King of Fighters. Aside from Fatal Fury, it seems as if everything SNK does is trash, I mean, they managed to make a crossover with Capcom into a shitty game (that isn't THAT hard actually, seeing as Capcom's only decent crossover fighter is TvC). That being said, I'm actually looking forward to this. This actually looks decent, and fun. However I will still get SSF4 way before I ever get this.

Normally I'd agree, but if Rare made another Killer Instinct, I'd lose my love for the series. Even if it's a decent game, it won't stack up to the first two at all and will at best be a mediocre game just like everything else Rare's done since they were bought by Microsoft.

Go back an read my post not ONCE did I EVER say ANYTHING negative about KoF 13. The King of Fighters as a series has been an epic fail, they didn't start getting good until KoF '03. and the CvS games were not awesome at all.
if they where fail, how come they clearly where such popular games and are still played today (in '98's case)? just because YOU didn't like these games doesn't give you a reason for branding them a failure.
@Tokamaru97 KOF was one of the biggest franchises back when the fighting game craze of the 90es was going on and helped define the genre as a whole (not on the level that SF2 did but still). 2003 wasn't the KOF that was the first to get good, it was the KOF that finally started getting good again.
First off, I'm Canadian, second off, you're a weaboo, third off, Capcom is a Japanese company, and lastly, shut the fuck up and never use any language ever again. I don't even want you existing in the same plane of existence as I am.
This argument was over a long time ago, you just felt like trying to see if you could win a losing battle. I'm not ignorant, just truthful. And SNK sucks, the only series they've done that was good all the way through is Fatal Fury. That's the truth, regardless if you want to accept it or not.
SNK and Street Fighter are both great. One's not really better than the other... they both have their strong suits. The King of Fighters may not be without its flaws... but Street Fighter ain't perfect either! It's had problems of it's own, going through both ups and downs just like every other franchise.
I will say this though... Street Fighter is a more important franchise than KoF, but that doesn't mean its superior, it's just more influential. Games like Fatal Fury, and Art of Fighting especially Art of Fighting....are obvious ripoffs of Street Fighter 2.
After seeing all your posts mentioning that "SNK sucks", I want to know why you think it does. Anybody can have an opinion, yes, but how are you backing it up. I am only asking because I recently just played KOF 2002 and found it to be deeper than the the Street Fighter series. I also like the greater amount character diversity and the character designs more. From what I see, Street Fighter is only "better" because of SF2's nostalgia factor and that Capcom is MUCH larger company

I was one of the few people who was really pleased with KOF XII. I saw it for what it was, a new beginning, so naturally it would be bare bones stuff seeing as they're starting from scratch. It really showed that they care about making the franchise good and they're not just whoring it out. So that said, I am SO damn excited about KOF XIII! Here's hoping K and Vanessa are back. Oh and Terry's BUSTAH WURRUF would make everyone happy!

@supremebeing87 yea i figured that out right after i put that comment but they new system they put in they said that there will be more combo possibiltes which is what i want kuz in kof 12 i can be cheap and cheat and do a combo that would pretty much kill in 1 counter but when i get my laptop ima post vids of my fights and sum combos i can do kuz im proud i can do these and ryo is THEE best when it comes do major damaging combos i can do it online but havnt kuz my xbox broke

I knew this one would be better. With XII they focused most of their attention on the new engine and animation, but now that thats ironed out, they can focus on the new characters and modes and gameplay. I cant wait!

You know what. I HATE King of Fighters. Aside from Fatal Fury, it seems as if everything SNK does is trash, I mean, they managed to make a crossover with Capcom into a shitty game (that isn't THAT hard actually, seeing as Capcom's only decent crossover fighter is TvC). That being said, I'm actually looking forward to this. This actually looks decent, and fun. However I will still get SSF4 way before I ever get this.

Normally I'd agree, but if Rare made another Killer Instinct, I'd lose my love for the series. Even if it's a decent game, it won't stack up to the first two at all and will at best be a mediocre game just like everything else Rare's done since they were bought by Microsoft.

Go back an read my post not ONCE did I EVER say ANYTHING negative about KoF 13. The King of Fighters as a series has been an epic fail, they didn't start getting good until KoF '03. and the CvS games were not awesome at all.

@Tokamaru97 KOF was one of the biggest franchises back when the fighting game craze of the 90es was going on and helped define the genre as a whole (not on the level that SF2 did but still). 2003 wasn't the KOF that was the first to get good, it was the KOF that finally started getting good again.

SNK and Street Fighter are both great. One's not really better than the other... they both have their strong suits. The King of Fighters may not be without its flaws... but Street Fighter ain't perfect either! It's had problems of it's own, going through both ups and downs just like every other franchise.

I will say this though... Street Fighter is a more important franchise than KoF, but that doesn't mean its superior, it's just more influential. Games like Fatal Fury, and Art of Fighting especially Art of Fighting....are obvious ripoffs of Street Fighter 2.

After seeing all your posts mentioning that "SNK sucks", I want to know why you think it does. Anybody can have an opinion, yes, but how are you backing it up. I am only asking because I recently just played KOF 2002 and found it to be deeper than the the Street Fighter series. I also like the greater amount character diversity and the character designs more. From what I see, Street Fighter is only "better" because of SF2's nostalgia factor and that Capcom is MUCH larger company

No, all the Vs. games sucked except all the ones before MvC2, with the exception of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
And yes, Capcom's made plenty of bad games, but SNK's entire roster of games are bad except Fatal Fury. Samurai Showdown is okay however.
And with Tekken, only Tekken 2 and Tekken Tag were any good. Other than that, Tekken's god awful. Same with Virtua Fighter.

I was one of the few people who was really pleased with KOF XII. I saw it for what it was, a new beginning, so naturally it would be bare bones stuff seeing as they're starting from scratch. It really showed that they care about making the franchise good and they're not just whoring it out. So that said, I am SO damn excited about KOF XIII! Here's hoping K and Vanessa are back. Oh and Terry's BUSTAH WURRUF would make everyone happy!
