i feel bad for people like kenny g, who know damn well how to play decent music, but who dont in exchange for maximum profits. I dont know how he sleeps at night knowing that what he does is eleavtor music compared to what john coltrane and sonny rollins do.

yeah, kenny g couldnt care less about what is "beautiful" as long as he's making money. He spews sub-par, pseudo-improvisational, overly syrupy "blues" licks over a pre-recorded track. It's easy to listen to, and so people buy his albums and call it "jazz." He's not a musician, he's a corporation.

He plays out of tune as well.

If people call this "jazz" then consider this. kenny g records his tracks separately from the rhythm section, and has the freedom to record as many tracks as he wants. A huge part of jazz is the tension created between the rhythm section and the horn. If the two dont record together, how can they build off what the other is playing? Going by the "traditional" sense of how jazz musicians sound, this sounds more like a robot playing.
