  • Well I love being an American, and we would defend South Korea in every way if N.K. ever starts some hurrah. I'm not saying they will, I'm not saying that North Korea will ever have the money to dominate another country, they definitely can't afford a war, but I'm just saying that in the event that it somehow did happen, we'd defend South Korea in every way.

  • All the death tolls in the video are exaggerated. Socialism has failed everyone that it has promised to help. Assertions to the contrary are historically incorrect. Any and all members of the CPGB-ML, and I've met a couple, are seriously deluded and dogmatic individuals.

  • @maximumsatann

The video doesn't even mention the death tolls resulting from Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's rule. Nearly 3 million- 10% of the population- died in the state-created famine of the 1990s (while the Great General dined on lobster.) but hey, these are well-fed British leftists who probably can't even find Korea on the map. not surprising they don't know what they're talking about.

  • Describing the history of a country and especially the life of a country's leader in an unbiased way is very difficult, not to mention almost impossible. Because of the modest display of sympathy towards the North Korean regime (in the back of your video), I myself sincerely question the objectivity of your story and must conclude that it isn't neutral at all.

  • @NicksLocker "when the regime of Dr. Evil #3 tries taking over the world".

    geography lesson:

Korea is 6,500 miles away from the USA. As well as 23,000 troops and 1,000 nuclear warheads the USA has over 1,000 bases world wide.

    History lesson:

It was the USA that divided Korea and killed 4 million koreans and still keeps korea divided.

The people of North korea have never invaded any other country.

The US has toppled more than 50 sovereign nations since ww2

so who's taking over the world??

  • @ProletarianCPGBML

No, North Korea is not going to try to take over the world, thats absurd. But Kim Jong Un is a dictator and his own people hate him. He'll end up like Louis XVI unless he gives up power. Now, why does the US give $1,000,000,000 in aid to a country its technicaly at war with?

  • @TheTollundWoman So true about his people not even liking him. With the US thing now, we're not idiots (somewhat including me... o.O), we're not just giving them food. We're doing it because in agreement they're going to end their nuclear program, and we want to help their people be okay. Everybody hates the NK government though [except for some ding-dongs in this comment page]

  • @ProletarianCPGBML First of all, I wasn't being serious. Second of all, we have not taken over any nations, we've freed their people. Yes, it's ridiculous how we dropped atomic bombs on Japan, but now they're free, advanced, and a true democratic republic. Then we left them alone. I was not being serious, I do not expect DPR Korea to have ANY bad relations with the US. I was just saying in the crazy event that it might happen, US would defend South Korea.

  • @NicksLocker

Thanks for your support! Soon it will not be "south" or "north" Korea it will be the *Republic of Korea* reunified as a democracy. btw you don't have to worry about North Korea "taking over the world", their own soldiers wouldn't even fight, they'd defect to the South if a war started. North Koreans are oppressed, that doesn't make them "brainwashed", no way will they risk their lives for the Absolute Monarchy of Kim Jong Un.

  • @TheTollundWoman in your dreams idiot, in your dreams only. There are too many people in S Korea who still remember the bloody AntiCommunist dictatorships, there are too many people in North Korea who remember the US terror-bombings of the Korean War in which millions of civilians perished. Nobody in Korea, whether South or North, wants your "democracy"

  • @ComradeFlorian31 You know that we weren't being serious? US and DPR Korea will have no bad relations, I was just saying, in the crazy event that something like that might happen, I was just pointing out that US would defend South Korea. And yes, South Korea did want our democracy, that's why we have the same form of government.

  • @NicksLocker South Korea killed up to 1 million Communists at Bodo League in 1950 and it has defended US Imperialism in every single one of its Imperialists adventures. South Korean Cryptofascists will never have their way

  • @ComradeFlorian31 Oh calm down it's not like north korea doesn't kill many many people everyday for doing nothing. South Korea might have killed many communists many years ago. And America put all the Japanese people in internment camps for 3 years. This is 2012, face it, South Korea and US are the place to be and north Korea is going to collapse. Otherwise, please explain to me how not.

  • @ComradeFlorian31

In 1950 South Korea was an autocracy ruled by Syngman Rhee who was in effect a dictator. Today South Korea is a democracy. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission in South Korea has punished those responsible for the Bodo League massacre and other atrocities. You can't argue South Korea today is the same as it was in 1950, that would be like saying Italy is inherently evil because of the government it had in 1922 (fascism.)

  • @ComradeFlorian31

You're calling South Koreans "fascists"??? North Korea still uses Eugenics in the 21st century, murders mixed-race children and segragates the handicapped. Kim Jong Un is a fascist dictator. LONG LIVE SOUTH KOREA

  • @ComradeFlorian31

Can you explain to me why 23,000 North Koreans have risked their lives to come to the Republic of Korea? Can you explain why the founder of Juche (Hwang Jang Yop) defected to the Republic of Korea? What do you, a British leftist, know about Korea anyway?

  • @TheTollundWoman Lol so true. Also if the people are smart enough to know they should defect to South Korea, then they can't be as brainwashed as they seem.

  • @NicksLocker Ha Ha. You watch to much American films.

    You Cock End

  • @ThePwilly So you're saying you support DPRK? American films in case you didn't notice are not run by the government, they're run by the people. I wasn't being serious and I'm pretty sure DPR Korea and the US will have no bad relations. If you're pro-communist then you don't belong in any country that allows you on YouTube, hooligan.

  • @ThePwilly

And you watch too much KCNA

  • North Korea is slave state solely constructed on the basis of worshipping the Kim dynasty.

    Hail GLOWIOUS LEADER COMRADE UN!

  • Solidarity with N.Korea now and Forever.

  • @SanJuanCreole

Solidarity with the prisoners in Yodok and Camp 22.

Solidarity with the members of the enslaved "hostile class".

Solidarity with the refugees and defectors who have risked their lives for freedom.

True solidarity means *opposing* this dictatorship, not defending it as so many naive westerners are doing.

  • @TheTollundWoman Solidarity means :Unity or agreement of feeling or action! I have respect and Revolutionary Love for the NORTH KOREANS! Sadly The South Koreans Are still puppets of amerikkkan imperialism. I have no beef or problem with the Comrade Kim Jong IL, may he rest in peace. Until the Victory always! p.s. I won't defend the Imperialist agenda.

  • @SanJuanCreole

You have "no problem" with a man who ate lobster while 3 million of his countrymen died from hunger? Kim Jong Il was about as "socialist" as Hitler. Any scumbag can call himself a "socialist" that doesn't mean he automatically qualifies as a "revolutionary"

  • @SanJuanCreole

And I have respect and love for the OPPRESSED PEOPLE OF NORTH KOREA

  • @SanJuanCreole

you really don't know much about South Korean politics, there are lots of anti-American protests, whatever you think of the US-ROK alliance, to assume everyone in the south supports it is just folly. If you really respected or cared about the people of North Korea you wouldn't praise a dictator who starved and tortured them. You know even in the Cultural Revolution, Maoists strongly criticized Kim Il Sung because he was so brutal

  • @SanJuanCreole

and you also know during the Cold War, dozens of North Koreans defected to the USSR and were granted political asylum. and the East German ambassador compared Kim Il Sung to Goebells. really you should do more research, North Korea hasn't been communist since 1948 when the Soviet army withdrew and let Kim Il Sung take over,

  • Women enjoy equal rights?? They're not even allowed to ride bicycles in north Korea, its considered a violation of "socialist morality"

  • @TheTollundWoman Named after a pre-historic anthropological find, and dedicated to championing capitalist imperialism. Backward to your core, you may be; without any substantiation or point of fact you definitely are. So who's paying you? And why should we listen to your usual brand of pre-packaged thoughtless propaganda?

  • @ProletarianCPGBML

"In 1996 it was decided that the bicycle was not suitable for women. The North Korean pressed explained that 'beautiful national customs' do not permit such debauchery, and women were banned from riding bikes. Allegedly, this judgement was the work of Kim Jong Il himself." -Andrei Lankov, "North of the DMZ: essays on daily life in North Korea", pg. 141. The author studied at Kim Il Sung university and is thus far more knowledgeable about the country tahn some British leftist

  • @ProletarianCPGBML

Actually my username is a reference to a poem by Seamus Heaney. But that, Comrade, is irrelevant. Alas, the KCIA and Mossad have both rejected my resume, so for now I'm continuing my studies. And as for "pre-packaged propaganda", you have clearly never read "the Collected Works of Kim Il Sung"...99 VOLUMES of rubbish.

  • @TheTollundWoman False. but thanks for playing!

  • @TheTollundWoman that is a blatant lie, cant you say anything truthful.

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

I've cited primary sources for everything I've said. Next question, comrade? Wait, no, you don't have time, your flight to Pyongyang boards in five minutes, enjoy the first-class window seat and the complimentary beverage. Just stop talking about a country you clearly know nothing about

  • @TheTollundWoman I have been to the dprk 6 times, you have never even been to south Korea let alone the North.

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

LOL you are hilarious, i doubt you know anything about my travel plans, but nice try

  • @TheTollundWoman yet you don't debate my point

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

I provided primary sources to prove what I said earlier, specifically about a sexist policy in North Korea similar to Saudi Arabia's ban on women driving. have any evidence of your own? i'm guessing not...

  • @TheTollundWoman you are good at lying, well not really you did not fool me

  • @TheTollundWoman really?Wow..What north Korean woman has not gotten were she needs to go because of a Bicycle?

  • @TheTollundWoman Who and what is a "TollundWoman" and why do you identify as such?

  • @yorubablk3

pretty sure I already explained this. Its a reference to a poem by Seamus Heaney.

  • @TheTollundWoman No,you didn't explain it to me.What is the poem about and why do you call yourself that?

  • @yorubablk3

Why do you care about my username so much? Change the subject all you want. Kim Jong Il is still dead, South Korea still has the 13th largest economy in the world, and according to Russian analysts, the dictatorship of the Kim dynasty- temporarily occupying half of our peninsula- will collapse in the next 20 years. See you in Pyeongchang for the 2018 Olympics!

  • @TheTollundWoman You asked "Why do you care about my username so much? " because i find it quit interesting that you wont or can't answer the questions i ask you about it..

  • @TheTollundWoman I think you confused that with US ally Saudi Arabia... why didn't US attack Saudi Arabia when they invade Bahrain last year anyway?

  • @akinkhoo

I don't know, ask the US that question. What I said was: I oppose the third generation hereditary succession, I oppose the dictatorship that killed 3 million of its citizens, I oppose Chinese neo-colonialism in Korea, and I want the great nation of Korea to be reunified. I don't know what the US or Bahrain has to do with anything...

  • @TheTollundWoman there is no dictatorship that kill 3 million of its citizen, there is also no chinese neo-colonialism in korea, US is the only country that station troop and staff in korea. as to your opposition to hereditary, that is not why I reply to you, you claim they can't bike, that is a lie.

anyone can make empty statement but lies are not reality, are you a person who deal with reality or with fantasy of finding WMD in Iraq?

  • @akinkhoo

Perhaps you'd like to explain to me why 23,000 North Koreans have risked their lives to defect to the South? Just curious.

  • @TheTollundWoman why do I need to explain that? what you ask has no relevance to what you are claiming. we deal in fact, not speculation. as I said, I reply to you because you claim they can't bike, I am not arguing for DPRK, I am arguing for FACT. are you going to apologize for your misspoke or are you going to avoid the question, where are your FACT to back your claims? where are the Chinese soldier you claim that are operating in Korea? or footage that show woman beaten of bike?

  • @akinkhoo

I never said there were Chinese *troops* in North Korea, I said that China's control over North Korea's economy and the amount of pressure it applies politically is tantamount to neo-colonialism. North Korea's government is subservient to China's. America is removing all its troops from Iraq, does that mean the US will stop influencing the Iraqi government? No.

  • @TheTollundWoman what you claim is untrue because more north korean are involved in factories run by south korean than chinese; furthermore the presence of a chinese embargo on north korea while does show china is applying pressure, it is not done to control the economy but limit weaponization. furthermore, this argument is a hallow one when US is effectively running a FULL imperialism of south korea since the president can't even control his own army, they are instead control by US command.

  • @akinkhoo

Look, Andrei Lankov is a credible source who, unlike you and your British friends, has actually lived in North Korea, studied there, so he knows what he's talking about. i bet you don't even speak a word of Korean.

  • @TheTollundWoman I take it that you concede on the bike comment then since you are resorting to personal opinion than provide any prove of your own. don't assume I don't speak Korean, you don't even know where I am from.

  • Juche is the opium of the people.

  • @TheTollundWoman No, in fact there are many diversions that prevent the masses liberating themselves, and many real obstacles and barriers. Juche certainly ain't one of them!

  • @TheTollundWoman Juche is the answer for Korea, DEATH TO CAPITALISTS!

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

Capitalism is gradually being resurrected in North Korea itself. "Its the jangmadang, stupid." Can't wait till the first Apple store opens in Pyongyang. And the last Kim Il Sung statue comes crashing down. And ROK troops guard the Yalu river. But keep cherishing your leftist daydreams, the musings of a British leftist will have no bearing on the future of the beautiful Republic of Korea, united from Busan to Sinuiju with the capital in Seoul.

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

Juche is the answer... for naive college kids living in posh London apartments, surfing the web and clicking on uriminzikkori because they have nothing better to do until their girlfriend shows up, and not understanding a word of it but thinking its "cool." Juche is the answer for upperclass Brits who've never been within 1000 mile radius of Pyongyang. Juche is the answer for "useful idiots" in the West.

  • @TheTollundWoman hahahaaa that is really funny, but I dont live in London or england you fool.

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

you don't live in england? so you actually bought a plane ticket and flew to London, just to attend a memorial ceremony run by the Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) of "Great" Britain? wow. i must say that shows dedication to the cause, however antiquated and nauseating that cause may be...

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

Marx was right. What the bourgeiosie produces is its own gravediggers. No one romanticizes about revolution more than the well-heeled heirs of "old money." People from North Korea risk their lives to escape. People from "western democracies" praise the Dear Leader for slaying imaginary Imperialist invaders in level 3 of some awesome video game.

  • Even bourgeois journalists called it...a revolutionary Hollywood

  • thanks for posting this, i learnt a lot.

  • How deluded are some people? yes, capitalism isn't the answer but allowing your country to be governed by one party and giving away all of your personal freedoms certainly isn't the answer either. Support democratic socialism which protects the working classes without oppressing them.

  • @winning4787

its really amazing. a bunch of British leftists who've probably never gone a single day without food, glorifying Kim Jong Il while enjoying all the benefits of democracy. these "useful idiots" make me nauseous. do they have ANY IDEA what it is like to live in North Korea?

  • Harpal is cool, I've become a fan.

    Defend the DPRK!

  • Saudi Arabia does have small local elections, just like North Korea ironically enough.

  • 27:20 Isn't it a bit late to send condolences three weeks after someone's demise when you were informed on the day of demisal?

  • @pounjabbi We sent our condolences on the day we heard the sad news of Kim Jong Il's death. This meeting was held on the day of Kim's Funeral. Thanks for your concern regarding protocol cde.

  • @ProletarianCPGBML

You forgot to send condolences to the 3 MILLION civilians whose deaths Kim Jong Il was directly responsible. You forgot to hold a memorial for the 3 people shot dead for trying to cross the Tumen river. And doesn't Heathrow Airport offer at least weekly flights to Pyongyang? You should contact a travel agency and leave the miserable capitalist world ASAP, you and your heartless comrades will not be missed.

  • 0:01 Kim Jong Il died on the 17th of December 2011, not on the 19th. The KCNA itself reported this later. Good info on his birth though, in Siberia, 16th of February 1941: This in contrast to the DPRK's claim of 1942, see Kim Jong Il's Biography, page 1 on the official webpage of the DPRK (for some reason it's not allowed to insert links here....).

  • Very nice Paul Robeson intro!

  • How much more pain can the Korean people endure? What a strong people, they are like a brick wall.

  • Да здравствует Полководец Ким Чен Ир!

    За вечную жизнь Полководца!

    Мансе!

  • Eternal Glory to Dear Comrade Kim Jong Il!!!

MASE!!!! Manse, KIM JONG IL djangun!!!

  • actually japanese people got the corea back from shilla people.... and unified it again....baekje in corea was destroyed by shilla in corea and baekje people flee to japan and established new country called japan....

  • LONG LIVE DPRK ! Thank you for this video and for hosting the event.

  • Yes,we all wish Comrade Jong Un all the best in building socialism!

  • @yorubablk3

Building socialism? Don't count on it. He'll be building more prisons, more slums, more guardposts along the Tumen river, who knows maybe even more nukes. But he will not be building anything remotely close to "socialism". How do you attempt to reconcile socialism with hereditary monarchy?? Wait maybe thats why these British leftists love Kim Jong Il...he was a "Communist" version of your perpetually annoying Prince Wiliam!

  • @TheTollundWoman What 'socialism' are you a proponent of?

  • @yorubablk3

    Scandinavian socialism.

  • @TheTollundWoman you mean scandinavian euro-"socialism"

  • @MaoistLeninistMarx

Basically I support a free democracy where workers' rights are protected by law, the govt. provides a social safety net (healthcare, education, pensions, etc.), and relative income equality keeps poverty to a minimum. your beloved Thatcher would probably have called be a Commie, while the Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un thinks i'm a "running dog of the Yankee imperialists." I will take both insults as compliments.

  • excellent work!

  • Comment removed

  • @AtheismCentral Thanks cde. But fyi there are 7 billion in the world Cde. 1.3 bn in china.

  • @ProletarianCPGBML

I keep getting billions mixed up with millions, excuse me, I heard stats saying, they had 600 million*
