@BitOfSand no people don't like the fact that Devil May Cry is being developed by Ninja Theory and not by the guy who worked on the last three games DMC2-4. Also NT has been known to make bad games they were mad at the fact that enslaved didn't make good sales and had bad reviews so they blamed DMC fans for sales. Another thing is that there's nothing original in this game what so ever all the environments, abilities are from DMC4, and the fucking story has bee used in so many games already.

For example Dante is no longer half human half demon, he is a nephilim(part human part angel), but Id forgive that portion if they didnt name him dante nor have this connected with the devil may cry series. Plus with Virgil and Dante of DMC3 showing up in Marvel VS Capcom, this reboot is just a slap in the face. gameplay does look intersting though, as the world design.

Sure, we won't know how he turns out. When DMC 5 is released, he might end up cooler than we thought. But so far, it seems like "new" Dante will be nothing like "old" Dante.

Lastly, I am NOT a DMC 5 hater. It is completely moronic to hate a game prior to its release. All I'm saying is, I would have preferred DMC 5 to be either a sequel, or to focus more on Vergil or Nero. As such, I am sceptical about DMC 5, although I WILL buy it, and I WILL give it a fair chance. It's still DMC, and it might still be awesome.

Whereas I can respect Nero for pretending to be a tough guy I fail to see what there will be to this new Dante that could redeem this horribly cliche'd writing in a story that is supposed to take the DMC franchise "deeper". If this is as deep as they are able to characterize Dante, that doesn't promise much for the main story. I've seen enough of angsty protagonists in shounen anime. The oneliners matter. A lot.

It's not just the hair it's Dante's personality! This dude is an emo Uchiha Saucegay wannabe unlike our Dante we love who is a cool headed down to earth guy who laughs even when he is in danger and getting tortured. The hair isn't the real problem here. DMC's 2 Dante was critisized because of his seriousness after the first game and think DMC 2's Dante is better than this emo Edward Cullen look-alike.

I saw a DMC trailer where they said: "don't take the world for what it is". Perhaps he's just dreaming he is an emo? Maybe this is just a way to drawn attention towards DMC 5, and we shouldn't be taking it seriously. But one thing is for certain: it can't be what it looks to be, because if it is they are more retarded than I have calculated.
It better be a joke, because the name Dante became a synonimous of badass, and I don't want my name becoming a synonimous of "emo".

The WHOLE game has changed e.g The mechanics, Dante's model, looks, voice actor, attitude, weapons and even developers from Ninja Theory, who has creative control and probably a lot more input. Get it through your minds that this isn't Devil May Cry, it's a totally NEW game of DMC but with similarities. That's why people are pissed off.

Plus, I know I'm upset because I loved Dante for so long and suddenly changing him is like if spongebob turned round. we grew to love dante as a white haired half human/half demon with a giant sword. :D I will still try this game out of love for DMC.

@BitOfSand it is not about the hair, jackass. It is about everything. The new Dante is pratically modelled after the lead designer, not simply a black-haired version of the old Dante. I can't say if his personality is fucked up, but even if he is "badass", we will have to learn how to respect a completely new character. It is like getting rid of most of the fans of a successful character to rebuild the character's reputation all over again, running the risk of not being successful this time.

@BitOfSand no people don't like the fact that Devil May Cry is being developed by Ninja Theory and not by the guy who worked on the last three games DMC2-4. Also NT has been known to make bad games they were mad at the fact that enslaved didn't make good sales and had bad reviews so they blamed DMC fans for sales. Another thing is that there's nothing original in this game what so ever all the environments, abilities are from DMC4, and the fucking story has bee used in so many games already.

For example Dante is no longer half human half demon, he is a nephilim(part human part angel), but Id forgive that portion if they didnt name him dante nor have this connected with the devil may cry series. Plus with Virgil and Dante of DMC3 showing up in Marvel VS Capcom, this reboot is just a slap in the face. gameplay does look intersting though, as the world design.

To be honest - I prefer the new Dante, doesnt look like a typical Capcom character anymore with white hair and rippling muscular body and a leather jacket, i love the new coat he's gotten and i find his look rather awesome. Its something new for a change, despite me going to miss the New Dante i think it was time for a new look.
