  • Dave you are the most incredible teacher, I don't know any guitar teacher as good as you, Danny Gill comes close but he's not you!

  • Render this videos in FULL-HD and you a huge bump in views and quality for your viewers.

    Just a suggestion :)

  • @Teque86 - that wasn't an option back then, but now all vids are hd.

  • What does Bossa Nova mean?

  • CAN YOU DO A ROCK ONE

  • Watching you on the Vai thing on Palladia right now, way to go man.

  • Nice rythm explanation/ if you want to dig deep into bossa , start at the beginning: Joao Gilberto ,, find some tabs and watch some youtube videos of him playing (there are a bunch thank god)

  • I see someone listens to Jobim and Joao hehehe :D Nice bossa comping, man!

  • Id like to see dave play metal haha. Love to see his take on it- Odd time, right and left hand technique, scale and key use, influences etc. all in a metal setting. Would be cool to see him lay down his heaviest riffs too. Yet something tells me he dismisses metal. To call this man versatile would be stating the obvious, but if he had a solid segment on metal, hell even "dave metal" haha, it would be unfair to call him anything less then genius. Haha as if he hasn't already earned that title!

  • He's done metal. Check out the Phrygian mode.

  • and locrian

  • Always an excellent lesson Dave. apb out!

  • Hi Dave you are realy realy doin a great job. I am trill by your dicipline and you dedication about this videos , every week, wow ,real amazing. What about Carnatic music concept. Like

  • Thanks I've been looking for some stuff in this style. Can you give some advise on Django?

  • dave, great work as always! i'm doing a piece in my jazz band called bossa de cancun and i plan on implementing this kind of rhythmic work. can't wait for the jazz lesson.

  • dave, could you please post a lesson on ways to spice up chord progressions and/or cool ways to change keys?

    love the video, as usual

  • Great video Dave. As always! See you next week.

    Kelly

  • Hey Dave! Great lesson again. I ironically just started to practice latin/jazz! Super timing! Keep up the good work. Your CD is taking too long to get here!!!!! bye

  • Hey dave! Nice lesson! It would be great that you accept messages or commets suggesting lessons for the future, SITAR LESSON PLEASE!! See ya!

  • I do accept suggestions as stated in the "About This Video" notes. I've seen your request for a sitar lesson, but I don't own a sitar. Sorry.

  • Sneak into Steve's house and steal his. hehe

  • Hey Dave..This is definitely my favorite lesson so far. =)

    -Nicholas Scott

  • crap this is hard.

And when did "election" and "clinton" have anything to do with guitar playing? ahah

  • can't wait for the next episode!!!

    thanks Dave

  • Just to correct you Dave, the title should be "Olá Bossa Nova" since Bossa Nova is centered in Brazil...

I just don't like when people mix spanish with portuguese ;D

  • Good job Weiner! lol sorry i just want to say that.

  • I usually say that after sex.

  • haha, me too.

  • thanks dave. i liked this one. do you think you could maybe do a flemenco lesson????

  • Question: Who knows more music theory you or Steve?

  • Once again many thanks.

It does sound rather identical to the Gypsy Kings song Bamboleo. Great to see how the styles come to be.

  • hey dave that was awesome why dont you do a clinic in MI and I'll get everyone to wear the got riffs t shirts the whole of P100 full of students with got riffs t-shirts now thats a cool thing to see
