I know for a fact that Rumina Sato is a featherweight, he did fight at lightweight in the beginning of his career but was never a big LW, he didn't cut weight to make 154 in Shooto and the vast majority of Featherweight fighters are bigger than 154. And everyone knows that Tito fought at 205 pounds, but cut to make that weight, so he was at least 220 pounds while Sato was at the most 160 pounds - Tito had a 60 pound advantage and yet acted like he had done something super impressive

so was that an absolute weight class elimination match? Sato had some great attempts, but a 50lb weight difference is difficult to overcome, especially at that level of competition.

Yeah, there's no denying that Tito is a great fighter. I wish his wrestling style was more distinct so I could've picked him out as a wrestler before I had to look it up. I find it hard to like tito because he can be such a jerk - sure Shamrock goes off, but I think Tito has been a jerk to the guys who were the early UFC fighters.
However, that was a really cool reverse guillotine in this video. I like him for that. But I don't like him for raising his arms in victory, this is ADCC, you're supposed to act like you're fighting in front of Arabian Kings.
its obvious just by looking at the two, that there is a HUGE weight disadvantage here. Rumina Sato normally fights at only 145. Tito ortiz is a heavyweight in ufc (200+). Not to mention rumina would easy triangle choke out any of you shit talkers.
This is submission wrestling. Close to traditional freestyle except submissions obviously and being on your back isnt always a disadvantage, there is alot more offense from your back.
Rofl this is obviously in the absolute division of ADCC, Sato is 5'6'' 145 lbs and Tito is 6'2'' 205. Pound for pound Sato is definately a better fighter but the weight diff is humongous.
Its hard to be intense against someone bigger and stronger than you. Still though he should have taken more risks. Still, Props Tito for dominating and actually getting the sub.
I'm surprised at the lack of intensity from Sato. Tito powered through Sato's attempts at submission and used a very clever technique to win. Sato relies heavily on armbar, knee and ankle lock, and triangle. By quickly switching to north-south position Tito nulled Sato's common submissions then simply used his weight advantage to win. Nicely done.
this was good cause watching it got me sum good ideas for when i wrestel mainly the standing cause once a guys sholders both touch the mat its done but very nice
that match sucked. why the hell wasn't rumina doing anything after the armbar/kneebar attempt? so much hugging and only one triangle attempt after so long? that match suuuuuuuuuuuucked.

Yeah, there's no denying that Tito is a great fighter. I wish his wrestling style was more distinct so I could've picked him out as a wrestler before I had to look it up. I find it hard to like tito because he can be such a jerk - sure Shamrock goes off, but I think Tito has been a jerk to the guys who were the early UFC fighters.

its obvious just by looking at the two, that there is a HUGE weight disadvantage here. Rumina Sato normally fights at only 145. Tito ortiz is a heavyweight in ufc (200+). Not to mention rumina would easy triangle choke out any of you shit talkers.

This is submission wrestling. Close to traditional freestyle except submissions obviously and being on your back isnt always a disadvantage, there is alot more offense from your back.

Rofl this is obviously in the absolute division of ADCC, Sato is 5'6'' 145 lbs and Tito is 6'2'' 205. Pound for pound Sato is definately a better fighter but the weight diff is humongous.

Its hard to be intense against someone bigger and stronger than you. Still though he should have taken more risks. Still, Props Tito for dominating and actually getting the sub.

I'm surprised at the lack of intensity from Sato. Tito powered through Sato's attempts at submission and used a very clever technique to win. Sato relies heavily on armbar, knee and ankle lock, and triangle. By quickly switching to north-south position Tito nulled Sato's common submissions then simply used his weight advantage to win. Nicely done.
