  • My basic practice was at shotokai (a soft karate style) but that was not a problem for me to became Greek champion twice, member of the greek national teem with many iternational figths

Karate is not a DOGMA my dear friends!!!

  • If you wont to use your energy is not necessary to be hard with your body. You have to be well trained, you have to create a good muscle accembly, knowing the lines and areas of attaks and deffenses and incorporated by armonic respiration, with a hight level of concentration. My way is not the only way to exprim a kata... you can expiriment different ways of practice, serching, analise...

  • "Look at shotokans hip vibration rooted stances and stable body!" You can not use your hips like this in a figth, this is only an exercise for the basic techniks. Some times i use this kind of training for stengthing BUT THIS IS NOT A NATURAL WAY OF MOVING and in Shotokai practice the most important element is "to be natural".

  • Can someone please explain the idea of shotokai??? It just seems sluggish and very weak... Look at shotokans hip vibration rooted stances and stable body! Most styles of karate seem to have this use... Shotokai on the other hand is completely different!!!!

  • i just dont understand shotokai.

  • @olev456

ask me and i will explain you everything

  • @olev456 I agree

  • feet on kibadachi are too open and you're running too much

  • @Goldvellius

my kiba dachi is too open for someone who have not the capacity to do like that or for un old man...

speedness and power is somthing personal...you can exprim your movements just like you feel.

karate and martial arts is not a dogma my friend.

  • @vasilistavrianidis i haven't sayed kiba dachi is open, but feet. feet on kiba dachi must look frontally. your posture is half between kiba dachi and shiko dachi. I've sayed that you're running too much not to say it's the law in that kata to go more slow but only couse i thinked if you run less you can controll better direction of your feet.

  • @vasilistavrianidis You lack control if you're running around like that

  • @PnutButter1986

i am agree... i was too young and enthusiastic ....but this is the way to work your fluidity

  • @Goldvellius the tekkis katas are drived from the nianchis of the earlier okinawan shorin ryu and kiba dachi is not the original position anyway. Karate MUST evolve and be adapted to the physical capabilities of the practitioner. Good job Vasili.

  • You are showing good movements.

I know your father from international course a few years ago and I know his student Athanassios Karagianidis. He's my mentor. I hope I will get a black belt in Egami Ryu any time ^^
