Friendly's is an East Coast chain that started in New England. The best ones are still there. Applebees, I find, are hit or miss. We had a very bad experience at the one in Suffolk County. The one here in DE is okay - depends on management. We prefer Ruby Tuesdays to either of the above. Our favorite place on LI is the Brick Cafe!
Domenico's in Levittown , probably the best pizza in Ny ( one of the best ). Or Borelli's in East Meadow , that's a favorite for people going to Islander games , yeah their business has suffered this year :) , but their pizza is terrific . JV

man good question, if I have to go with a chain restaurant everyone has heard of I'd agree with you and say Applebees. Now if it's a little hole in the wall family owned restaurant in my area I'd go with Juanita's, INCREDIBLE Mexican food
F' sho it's applebee's.....This year when the Gmen kicked our ass in week nine I was watching the game at applebees and I ran a $350 tab on alcohol, I was so pissed watching the game.

there is a place in Tampa called Crazy Buffet... they have a really great sushi bar. pricey ,but well worth it.
