Many stories with these guys…L.A. riots…on top of their roof in Venice…getting blazed…think Dizzy was stretching Ann Stevenson around then….babe from Detroit….Toledo Motor Speedway…they opened for Guns & Roses….twisted..lot of fights……I started Ann dating around then…for a few weeks…moved to Miami Beach…..minus her….ran into the boys at a gig and got seriously snapped. Ah those were the night club days…..or the free clinic days….
I saw this band in a little club in Liverpool call The Crazy House (Sloanes really) they blew the fukin roof off. Then they spent the rest of the night gettin pissed an causin mayhem on the dance floor with the crowd. great night. was had by all
Wow I remember when the video was first aired on mtv way back. I used to watch headbanngers ball when it was cool and new. I have not watched mtv since early 90s. That was one I loved back in my old life. Still a great video for sure. I guess the 80s was fun at times eh grin.
never listened this band when i was into hard rock and old metal music....but i found them better than all the silly hair bands that got famous that times....much better than slaughter for sure.....and amazing recording sound for that period....
These guys were never given their props ~ Saw them at the Whiskey A Go-Go in 1988 performing this and "Why do you think they call it Dope!!" ~ Love them!!
It's a shame that these guys never got the praise and recognition they deserve. I remember seeing these guys at Harpo's in Detroit, and got backstage. They were the coolest guys to hang out with, period.
I´m 34 and I don´t know where my mind was when this band appeared...surely I was listening to Guns n´roses and their saturating 91-92 hits...but it´s never late to find quality.
TO the poster below me... You are correct sir!!! I met Jizzy when he came through with LA Guns... Rude and Arrogant is accurate.... He is a legend in his own mind obviously... I had some people with me that never heard of him, and said FUCK HIM....
Jizzy is an asshole! I met him 3 years ago. He's very arrogant and rude, and he was for sure tweaking his balls off! That aside, they still put on a kick ass show.
Hey Jr, why don't stop badmouthing my band. You act like your some L/H critic with a poor sense of reality and bitterness. Regardless of the current climate of the music culture at that time, I treasure every moment I lived with Love/Hate. It's a shame people can't have open minds. We were just doing what we lived and breathed..... J Love
Every version of this song on iTunes has awful out-of-tune vocals (listen to the words "party time", "black out... red room", etc), yet on this video version the vocals sound fine. The music sounds the same (awesome) on both. Can anyone explain this?
Lucky to spend a WHOLE WEEK with these boys in 1992 on tour starting in Milton Keynes of all places MADDEST WEEK of my life !!!!! LOL LOL They were the Fukin Dogz!!!
Dee Snider got me hooked on this song on his radio hair band suggestions. Dee Snider knows his shit or whoever is looking up these rare to find hair band songs. Warlock as well he has got me hooked
so I just signed into my Youtube account, and got an add for both Both Britney Spears n Lady Gaga before My Preferred selected Video was Played er FUCK OFF, I want to listen to Love/Hate not to gay lovin bitches Fuck off Pop Culture I am into Women, Rock, Metal etc
My old band use to play shows with Love Hate at The Whisky a Go-Go. Seems like a zillion years ago now. Anyone remember the No Bozo nights? Amazing times indeed.
@SugarBuzzMagazine no bozo jam nights is what it was. ghetto club really, the bands had to load right on the sidewalk were everyone was trying to walk through to get into the club.
These guys were kickin back in their day and their music still sounds awesome......I remember climbing on stage at the Bradford Queens Hall and hooking up with Jizzy to the Chorus of Black Out and then stage diving into the pit before stage security got to me! Oh those days :)
@felipeoshea fukn NICE!! i just remembered these guys recently after all these years, thank the stars!! They had something special, fer sher!! Reminds me of my stagedive at Jane's Addiction, Denver, 90'. Perry looked me me in the eye and smiled before I dove...Awesome!!
To remember seeing these guys live....INCREDIBLE concert in Tampa opening for Dio 1991. Crazy times described perfectly throughout this whole album. Just downloaded it in digital.
Actually it was at Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, FL. I know because I was there and then paid $20 to Ace's Record's for a bootleg VHS of that show! Nothing like the Bud Cross intro!!!
Oh my gosh I totally forgot about this song. i was seeing other songs and then I saw this one. I remember Ibought this cassette tape of these guys because of this song. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Totally forgot about this song...then the last time I saw Iron Maiden live they played this as one of their pre-show mix songs. Good lord this song kicked some ass.
Damn i forgot about these guys, Until i heard them on 93.3 BIG ROCK today. Lets bring them back. They would be better than 95% of all the shit out there today.
So simple, but the way the guitar sounds.. blended with that bass... and the punchyness of his drums....monster sound!.. was lucky enough to see them touring this album in a dump in Illinois called the thirsty whale..if your wondering, they sounded just as clear, tight and heavy as you hear, here..nothing lost live..it wasn't the o'l we've played this a million times, going through the motion thing.
Chris should be the Lead singer..I Mean He Looks Like Jim Morrison,,and He writes all the Songs..Get rid Od The Singer..and add a 2nd Bass..Man That would ROCK!
2 of the guys in this band used to hang out at my uncles Hollywood apartment a lot in those days. Davey J was what he was known as if anyone in the Band ever reads this!
No Identity..No Band..They never know what they suppossed to Be..Rock? Heavy Metal? Garage Band Maybe?/..They never Made It Big because they Never Had a saong Writter That coould write about anything,,but DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHH
this fuckin rocks!....i'm so excited that metal just keeps comin back! 80's metal, sabbath, all metal will never die...and with video games like rock band and guitar hero, my 11 year old and all the kids get it...sorry, rappers (no disrespect intended) but hard rock and metal will always win out! and i'm much happier that my kid's listening to rock now instead!
