  • Does anyone anyone have any ideas what JM meant by "But I seek after sword, after sounds of the sea / A charm forever around my mind" mean?

  • Great song. Please could you send me the tab? Thanks.

  • This is great, I really enjoyed this. Thanks for uploading m8.

  • @BigPhil22 Cheers. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Love this song.

  • I've just discovered London Conversation, and this track jumps out from an amazing record. Thanks for doing such a great cover, I like your trueness to the rhythm, rather than being note perfect, and the vocals are spot on for JMs slurry style. I hate when songs are better known for a cover (morcheeba) than the better original.

I ain't giving up till I nail this. Are you tuned to DADDAD?

  • @1978BenF It's open G7th (FGDGBD). Tricky timing - good luck with it. Cheers.

  • @Waggonerslad Cheers for that. I'll give it a bash in that. I have a tab for it in DADDAD but it's got a couple of tricky changes with the capo on the 9th fret. Your way offers much more finger space!!!

  • @Mystery13Cat No no, I was just making a joke! Being flippant, sorry. I'm not a professional musician you see. Just messing around in my spare time. Thanks for your kind remarks. :)

  • well done, great cover!

  • @ramix0 Cheers. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • @Mystery13Cat Don't know that Morcheeba are taking my calls to be honest mate! Thanks for listening though, and apologies for the waviness! :)

  • great version mate-- youve really nailed the sound and don't listen to the people who moan- your voice is fucking excellent

  • @tokaicarl Thanks. Appreciate the compliment.

  • I really love this song and how you play it. I would really love if you could tell me where to find a tab/or send me a email with it because i can not find anything on the search engines. Thanks!:)

  • @rolost

Hi, thanks for the comment. Bit of a tricky one this because the old site which had this tab has gone down now and I don't have a copy. Best I can suggest is go to guitarfreaksforum(dot)com and ask as this site is run by the same person

  • @Waggonerslad okay, thanks, I'll look into it :)

  • you have done JM proud with this rendition

  • hot as toast.

    loved it

  • Why thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • whats the song that goes on about a green streem meandering in your mind

  • It's called "Golden Girl"

  • can you play and post it please one of my all time favez..

    all the best..

  • Well I don't really know how to play it but I've just found Loomskichoom's video which is a pretty good starting point so, I'm not making any promises but..

    Thanks again.

  • Well I've had a go - not perfect but I gave it a bash anyway. Hope it's not a big disappointment

  • that was very very good, love it! it's my fav song from the album.. can you point me toward the tabs please? cheers

  • Cheers. Try googling "john martyn guitar freaks forum" for the tab

  • one of my fav albums of all time brill....

  • spot on.

  • beautiful job, beautiful song. the sped up version is probably by morcheeba. i do like the original rendition much better. i would love the tabs to this, as i have been unable to find them online. thanks, and keep pickin'

  • No it wasn't the Morcheeba version it was actually the JM version someone had uploaded speeded up - for some odd reason!!

The tab to this great song - for everyone's benefit - can be found, along with a few others, on a site called the John Martyn guitar freaks forum.

Many thanks for the kind words.

  • Hey, nice work, I really like this song and would love to learn the tab also!
