Have to say i am not impressed with this product not only does it have a massive design flaw on the rear aux port the input sensitivity is appauling requiring most mp3/ipods etc to run at full volume and still not getting proper drive, This unit also lacks any Bass/Treble Control.. Sound quality is fairley poor, Responce curve is very bottom end heavy and lacks clarity
Great Radio - design could be better. I also do not like the AC cord that hangs out the front of the radio instead of the back. Do you have a hack for that too :-)
1: The cable I bought (cheapest on ebay) just happened to have jacks that, with the right amount of careful force, fit through the hole at the back, so no soldering needed.
2: I managed to feed the cable through the bottom of one of the slots that the Li-ion slides into. If you look when the battery is in, theres about 20mm gap each side, just below the battery. This means you dont have to guide the wire out of the way when replacing the battery.
he's wearing crocks....wtf

why don't you just drill a bigger hole on the existing so the head could fit through instead of soldering

Not all Makita batteries are that shape. They have already redesigned the batts to the issue. No need to hack it.

drill and oversize hole and use a small jack.

great video, couple of tips I'd add to it:
1: The cable I bought (cheapest on ebay) just happened to have jacks that, with the right amount of careful force, fit through the hole at the back, so no soldering needed.

nice, also ive discovered if you have reception issues, take the antenna off, most times it will work allot better without it.
