Ive been a ballet dancer for over 10 years. I dance professionally and teach dancing (hip-hop and ballet.) Ballet is obviously art but it's also a "sport' because of the high level of athletic ability that is required. Unlike other art forms, (painting, cooking etc) ballet dancers have to be in excellent physical condition. The training is just as rigerous as many other sports and probobly harder than most. Believe me, we ARE athletes, and ballet is both art and sport.

not everyone is born with it. to say that something such as ballet and horseback riding is a sport/art is putting limitations on it that can be defied and shouldn't be set there.

amazing. I'm 12 years old and i simpily looove ballet. Its a beutiful sport and most people think it does not take a lot to be a ballerina but it takes an amazing amount of work! Ballerinas have to work just as hard as football players or or national soccer players.
