2 years ago i converted $20,000 into japenese yen thinking i would spend it when i visited japan ( i didn't) i only spent $8,000 over there and kept the rest, when i came back to the usa i did not reconvert the remaining $11,000 the money but just kept the yen. Now that the $ has went down that remaining $11,000 in yen is now worth $13,000 in usd... if the dollar crashes i think i will be safe by trading usd for yen and leaving the usa until the whole thing clears up.

Iowa announced $600+ million shortfall in revenue. We moved a few months ago because my wife got laid off - I'm self-employed so the location is flexible but my income is lagging. She applied for jobs in small towns so we could avoid any chaos that's coming. Homes here are 1/2 what they were in our previous city - easy to find rentals too.
Hopefully my wife won't get laid off again - my business will struggle, but savings will tide me over for a little while...

I live in North Eastern PA, both me and my husband lost our jobs, house is foreclosed on as of Oct 21, 2009, we have claimed bankruptcy and just wiped out our 401K. We can't even think about relocating-we have nothing-there are no jobs-we ask family who live in other states and they all say don't come here, no jobs. I disagree with the comment about the mid-west was first. The mid-west is now starting to really get the pressure. Nebraska and Iowa are making huge cuts in the budgets. Iowa announced $600+ million shortfall in revenue. Anyone that has been in this area for a few years can tell by the help wanted classifieds that the job market is a fraction of where it used to be in the Omaha and Des Moines area.

In Californioa especially you can't live without a car. Even to go buy a pack of cigarettes you need to drive. So all the expenses tied to owning a car drain the budget.
Plus ATM fees as he was saying, and utilities charging arrears. That sucks but he needs to teach his kids how to entertain themselves for cheap. There is going to be a lot of dissapointed people when they realized they just wasted money and effort moving only to find out jobs are hard to come by no matter where you go. Almost every state is letting jobs go, so obviously were in a decline not an ascent anywhere so even if the unemployment rate is lower somewhere if they are losing jobs it doesn't make it easier to find a job there cause of the descent.

Not saying that all native born American's are like that but it has been commonly the case. For example I hired several guys for a temp job. 3 native born and 2 immigrants. Atlanta is a bad idea - I know folks in Georgia and they're thinking about moving.
We moved a few months ago because my wife got laid off - I'm self-employed so the location is flexible but my income is lagging. She applied for jobs in small towns so we could avoid any chaos that's coming. Homes here are 1/2 what they were in our previous city - easy to find rentals too.
Hopefully my wife won't get laid off again - my business will struggle, but savings will tide me over for a little while...

I live in North Eastern PA, both me and my husband lost our jobs, house is foreclosed on as of Oct 21, 2009, we have claimed bankruptcy and just wiped out our 401K. We can't even think about relocating-we have nothing-there are no jobs-we ask family who live in other states and they all say don't come here, no jobs. I was a Union Carpenter (new construction) who has been outta work for about almost 1 1/2 years now. Hell, I've been out there daily trying to find $8 an hr. jobs with no luck. Nobodys hiring. CA has always been a whacked out state, and I'm suprised people aren't eating each other already out there. Things are down in MO but not like E or W coast states. I drove through downtown LA just weeks before the Rodney King riots and there were 100's of homeless roaming back then. I was only there for a month and was held up at gun point once, and almost jumped once when I was just 18 yrs old, wrong place at the wrong time I guess. It's definately pretty there though!

For one thing concerning both video and computer games: they are ridiculously overpriced, a lot are DRM ridden, and just average or even mediorce. There are other options available. Gog for one thing. check out the site gog(.)com and also Gametap is also another possibility. Also download and play game demos, and even shareware, freeware and abandonware games. And oh yes, free online and multiplayer games too. Even write your own games. Reduce and save the money on these luxury items.

I'm 44 years old. I've lived in Mexico and several states in the US. I've even been down to living on credit cards. But I tell you the truth, I've never gone a single day without food ... except when I got food poisoning and couldn't keep anything down for a week.

California is about to see a lot of people moving out of the state. California has a very bad housing market, forest fires, water main breaks, and water being seized from farmers. With a lot more stuff being hidden from the public eye.

Yes they do , I was employed in Las Vegas providing armed security for both casinos and private security firms with a diverse array of assignments .
I was very accustomed to these type of individuals and part of my duties at times were to interpert peoples statements and physical actions/movements .

Actually shifting eyes is a sign of lying. I looked at the video again and the eye shifting is very suspicious when it is timed. I think the guy is flat out scamming or he is exaggerating so he can ask for some change.
he sort of let the cat out of the bag as George talked to him with all those contradictions. I thought his story didn't make sense for someone in desperation.

The moment that the guy choked and said meatcutter I KNEW that he was lying at the very start of the video .
I even went back and watched that part several times to be sure before i commented
As the video progressed , many of the things that he was saying was true .
Bottom Line > This guy goes around playing everybody for a buck or 2 everywhere that he goes .

Yeah if your not use to it you wouldn't know it. If you spend ONE day in san francisco youll get asked for money like 100 times, no joke. And this was years ago when the economy was good. I hate to know what it is like right now.
Now granted some in SF are legitimate, but some are outright scammer bums asking for change.
