  • THIS IS THE NANDAO WUSHU FORM YOUR IDIOTS FUCK THIS STYLE !!!

  • not sword! this is Saber ^^

  • if only he were fighting a ninja. i would pay to see that. china vs japan !

  • @coby110798 totally agree on that... Am an actual student of the Tenshin Shoden Katori shinto-ryu (a Japanese sword school/style) and the Kyokushin karate style and i'd love to see that cuz Shaolin warriors are more than worthy opponents they are THE guys to beat for my self I'd like to fight one armed and unamred

  • I like Kung Fu

  • dibs on him for my tag team partner in ANY FIGHT

  • and as for the weight of the combat ready weapons? practitioners have other exercises/tools for to build up the strength and endurance needed to perform their arts. the battle ready blades are not a whole lot heavier than the ones used in practice the idea behind forms is control and familiarity so the weapons used must be very similar to the ones actually used in combat or else it would throw off that control and totally destroy familiarity. and yes the practice ones are very dull...

  • @thecamondascia you obviously don't know much about weapon history and I'll be the first to admit that I don't know much about chinese steel manufacturing but no military grade weapon used on the battlefield has ever been as floppy as these swords. I recommend a visit to sword manufacturers guide or any swordrelated forum to ask "experts" or at least people with a working knowledge in sword making to get your facts straight.

  • @thetaoway I usually don't reply to stuff this far in the past but, you're just flat wrong. The flexible sword will not break. Whether the other poster was right about their comment or not depends on the art in practice.

  • @ClockworkGidget I'm not going to drag this argument 6 months after it ended and I'm pretty sure I never said it would break. Just not cut very well. I love kung fu and practice it myself. I just don't believe in these tin foil swords and the people claiming they do work. Please prove me wrong! No joke. It's not that hard. Just one video of a sword as floppy as this one cutting something substantial. Tatami, pig carcass or just a plain steak =) I truly mean no disrespect!

  • @thetaoway yeah right u expect real shaolin monk with real sword tech?which is the hardest in all shaolin kung fu?

  • @malganus4 no no. i never said i expect anything but i would love to see it. i'm not denying the amazing skill of the shaolin monks, just the equipment and the people saying that these flexible weapons can cut. Once again all I need is one cutting vid with a sword as flexible as the one in the video. i'm not one of those people who would get upset by being proven wrong in this question. again, not denying or disrespecting the skill of the monks.

  • @thetaoway that's true, monk train all life,i'm training as hard from 14 yrs,and can only envy their joint flexibility, but true shalolin animal styles kung fu is rly hard for me,i use some of it's elements in different styles.Anyway i think it's sad kung fu is more of tradition then self developing art, thus even smallest corrections are taken as disrespect.

  • you have to remember that the blade can be paper thin and if you have the proper form (angle of the blade, power and speed of the swing) then it is going to slice right through because it has the rigid structure of the 1-5 inches of steel behind it and although the steel behind it is also paper thin it is still 1-5 inches wide and is not something to be taken lightly... take tai-chi swords for instance.... very thin and flexible yet has amazing thrusting and slicing abilities...

  • @thecamondascia no they don't... -_- show me one good example of a wushu weapon cutting, slicing or thrusting through a respectable target be it tatami, animal cadaver or even a dummy with regular thick clothing.

  • of excuse me, i meant to type the word sharp instead of shape

  • Its a Water Song blade, its thick at the bottom but almost paper-thin at the tip and barely a pound in weight, the sword is very quick and the Water Song (caused by vibrating the blade) is very audible.

  • @Ginjaruto Its a Contemporary Wushu blade not a traditional combat blade. Also out of curiosity why does he finish the form with the "sharp" edge against the back of his arm. A real blade would cut him. Love his form work and all of his vids, just needs some very minor tweaking. Peace........

  • The "flex" in the blade is made by design. Think about what would happen when you thrust the blade and it shutters after impact.

  • what the hell are you thrusting at, a concrete wall? if you hit your target, the blade will go In, not bend and shatter... if you hit armor, you're going to glance off, again no shatter. what do you propose you'll be thrusting into that would shatter a sword?

  • I did not say "shatter", I said "shutter" as meant in "rapidly vibrates" once it is thrust. If thrust into an enemy the vibrations would make the wound and damage greater.

  • mhmm, so you did. still, this weapon is a fake, and unless you are thrusting into teh pit of the stomach, the surrounding muscle would prevent much motion of the weapon... this is why people sometimes twisted the hilt before they pulled the weapon out.

  • @Blademasta989 ignorant.

  • this was 5 months ago and i was tired.... stfu. i misread a word, so what. go "shutter" your vag a bit, feel better.

  • @Blademasta989 i wasnt even talking about the word shutter," still, this weapon is a fake," talking about that; no shit the weapon is fake doing these kind of swordplay with a fucking shape blade is a dumb ass thing to do, adding to that, beside the type of sword this monk is using is for a chinese "sport" called wushu it wasn't made for combat, 5 months ago or not, you still a cocky bitch who doesn't know shit and pretend like he does

  • @karatedad LOL what fantasy book did you read that in. At best the point might cut before the blade would bend and barely do any damage. This is a slashing weapon not a thrusting weapon first of all.

  • @karatedad the lighter weight is for training purposes. Modern Contemporary Wushu use these weapons, and real combat steel weapon weighs more and would fatigue the wrist more. I suggest you go get a little better educated on Kung Fu weapons sir.

  • It's an aluminum sword for wushu practice. It's not a real one for combat .

  • lf vids with the 3 ring one , ghost head sword..

  • Is that the nine ring sabre?

  • is that just a practise sword or is that a sword that they would actually use in a combat situation?

(and i know that the monks didnt learn to fight to actually go and kick some ass only to defend themselves and to discipline themselves)

  • It can be used to fight.

  • highly doubt it

  • there is a large chance that its not real. they didnt use real swords. it was meant for practicing the art and for demenstrations

  • no, if it's a shaolin monk it's probably real... the whole art is to master it anyway

  • Anybody know where I can find a video of a shaolin monk weilding a real sword and not the wushu steel bullshit? Mind you I'm not bashing the monk just the poor quality of the weapon. Those swords are a joke and it weights like 5 times less than a real sword. Anybody know a video without the floppy chinese swords?

  • it really doesnt matter about the sword. the sword is only as good as its wielder and these floppy swords are the only swords they use

  • That is a real sword. The dao and jian are...floppy if you will but its that flexibility that keeps them from breaking unlike more rigid weapons that are more prone to shattering. As far as the weight most swords were 2-3 lbs and even the big 2 handed mofos were only 5-6 at the most. There were ceremonial swords that could be up to about 10 lbs but you'd never use one, nor were they designed, for combat

  • Eh, no! No, no, no! A blade can be flexible but this is NOT A REAL SWORD and anybody who thinks so is retarded. Yes you can kill someone with it but this sword wouldn't cut a tatami mat even if you lit it on fire. This is a wushu/spring steel blade, hence the noice made when cutting. No real sword makes that noice. Go check out Cold Steels Dao videos here on Youtube instead to find a REAL quality dao.

  • seriously.. get your facts straight.. those are FAKE... well.. not fake fake.. but they're used for wushu only. those swords are solid at the base and flimsy at the edge so that it makes a sound....dont go making stupid shit up that makes no damn sense.. even in movies.. its not a floppy sword..

  • Outch , I dont want to be he's enemy...

  • It's called a dao

  • which means sword in chinese lol

  • At first I thought that sword was a nine-ring sword. But when I look closer I can tell that it's a broadsword.

  • i hear the really good swords are supposed to be able to bend 90 degrees sideways and return to their original state unharmed.

  • Good carbon steel blades can bend about 45-60 degrees and return to the right position but this is not a real blade. This is a spring/wushu steel blade NOT a real sword. Check out cold steel swords for amazing real blades. But real swords also weigh alot more than the sword in this clip.

  • I like Shi Yong Bin's youthfull grace, speed and agility. (a Bruce-Lee-type warrior). Also the way he vociferates, tells you he's not fucking about - that monk will go mad in a real fight trust me.

  • wtf i thought monks are peacful ppl. their more dangerous than a drunkie with a knife! 0.0

  • they learn kung fu not to fight but to discipline themselves and its always there if u need it

  • Hate to repeat what everyone else is saying, but that's a "dao" or Shaolin saber, as opposed to a "jian" or Shaolin sword.

    Excellent saber form though.

  • the movements are all from then NANDAO compulsory form (modern wushu southern broadsword). nowadays they call everything "shaolin"... ;)

  • What is the exact name of that sword? I can't seem to find it anywhere...

  • this is shaolin saber not sword...but anyway nice form

  • mines in better quality...

  • i wonder if this guy can make good sheesh kababs

  • Don't know about that, but I hear he makes excellent fried rice.

  • I wanna see a Damn Kung Fu BATTLE!!! this dumb dude swinging a sword, looks fake as hell...

  • Well it wont help whining about it in a post. and this is Real bakka

  • The sword isn't meant for fighting, it's ment for demonstration. 近义词

  • demonstrating? i would be impressed if the sword had not made a sound.

  • yeah... we really need you to quit dancing around and finish chopping that lettuce, m'kay?

  • such control.

  • That is sooo dangerous with a real sword!! Awesome!!

  • cool...better than anything i can do...
