It's "convert" not "revert".

The notion that we are all born as muslims is ridiculous. Babies know nothing about religion of any type. Adults - usually the parents - indoctrinate them before they have the wherewithall to think for themselves.

Thats exactly what it is meant by Muslim. It is a central belief in Islam that all humans are born as Muslims (in a state of Submission to the will of God). we consider all previous prophets including Jesus (PBUH) to be Muslims (or Submitters to God) which does not necessarly have to mean followers of the last and final prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Although now All Muslims have to follow him. Kids do get indoctrinat and deviate from Islam.

So you're saying that submission to God's will is something that is done unconsciously by babies while their mentation is rudimentary.

Later on parents, mullahs etc. come into the picture to say "No! You are not submitting properly. We know what is right, you don't. You must think and do all these other things, wear these particular clothes.." etc.

That is exactly what Islam teaches. In realty Muslims believe that even trees and animals are Muslims who do what God created them to do. Islam is NOT a new religion, we believe that all prophets taught the same message but the message was changed by humans and when that happens Allah sends a new prophet to correct those who deviated. Muhammad (PBUH) was the last and final prophet sent to guide all Humanity, with the same message as ALL other previous prophets (God is one, worship him alone).
