No one really knows why the nazis chose it, but some people think that because they had technology beyond our technology at the time, so they might've found some extraterrestrial-type artifacts and backtraced it. There is some proof to this theory though, such as some strange buildings, a bunker where alien theorists discovered a hidden room using differences in air pressure by using a paper lit on fire...

Ok, USSR was actually NEVER a communist state. They were Socialists. Communism is basically no government, everyone is equal and people only work as a group (it's impossible) but before communism, it's socialism. Socialism has a government but communism don't.
