  • i can´t find a better name

  • probably the finest piston engined fighter ever produced!!

  • Just illustrated this aircraft and am looking for any in service information anyone has on it. can't get anything between 1951 and 1962 when it was decomissioned at Lossiemouth so any further info would be appreciated. Also any chance or the Centaurus being fitted back in if and when available?

    Cheers Stuart

  • Saw a Sea Fury do a Solo Aerobatic Flight at the Houston Air Show in the

90's.. it stole the show. Better than any

of the Jets. Phenominal plane. It's sound

at Taxi .. a pure masculine symphony.

  • I saw your Sea Fury at Indy Air Show June 6, 2009. What a great plane!!

  • Glad you enjoyed it! The airplane is at AirVenture for the entire show and will do its solo aerobatic act in the Warbird show. Please come by and say, "Hello". Our T-33 is also there and will be at the Bose tent all week.

  • One of my favorites...My favorite is the F4U, but the Sea Fury is not far behind. I must have watched too much "Baa Baa Blacksheep"

  • Awesome video I live very close, in fact I see it fly over my place reasonably often Is there any way to organise a flight in the Fury?

  • I hope you saw it fly over the riverfront in the Memphis in May airshow. Seeing it fly with the Corsair and the Yak-3 (all Korean War contemporaries) was awesome. We are not offering flights in the Sea Fury at this time but we will in the near future. We do have the SBD and the P-51 available for rides from time to time. Come out to our meetings on the second Saturday of each month and spend some time with the airplane.

  • Yep I was there and really enjoyed the show

I think you might just see me there on one of these up coming weekends

  • i was wondering how does it handle? it looks a beast!does it turn/climb good and how does compare to the stang and bearcat?it looks very potent

  • one the last, and best, prop fighters...nice footage!

  • I saw a sea fury at an airshow here in Adelaide Australia back in 1990,, i was immediately smitten by it's sheer power /sound /tone and the pilot gave us all a treat as he did his flypasts with the wings tipped well over on each run across the field...

  • Ah, I see. Awesome sound! I've only seen a couple of Sea Fury's in all the time I've been flying and attending airshows. They've got to be one of my all time favorite aircraft.

  • Bristol Centaurus radial engine, almost sounds like a V-12 in some respects. Sea Furys are an awesome fighter.

  • I agree with your comment but this airplane has been re-engined with an American 3350, the same engine as a Super Constellation. The Bristol engine is sitting in the back of the hangar in need of major overhaul.

  • @rpellicciotti Did you get that Bristol engine up and running?

  • saw one of these flying years ago the sound was friggin amazing
