This is like the only video of this piece that I have found - and I have looked up so many, from professional concert players to kids at recitals - where they actually get BOTH C major chords in the third measure. Geez! This video made my day. I was beginning to wonder if any pianist knew what a freaking accidental was anymore.
@456jay123 the first C major chord of measure 3 is a secondary dominant of Fmin, that follows it, however it is followed by G, or V of I, which leads back to I, C min. Besides, the score I have in front of me clearly indicates e flat on the last chord of bar 3, do you have something different?
@sherifkarama85 My bad, there is no G after F. I guess either could make sense. Pollini seems to play a C as well, and I find his version much more poignant too, but I have to admit this is the first time I hear it played this way!
I think you're mistaken, I'll upload a picture on my facebook and post the link to show you. The second chord of the third measure is C major, then it goes to F minor with a 2nd suspended that resolves to an F minor, it's not a G chord...and then, in the last chord, the E has no accidental by it, which indicates that it holds to the last accidental that was used upon it, i.e. at the beginning of the measure where there is a natural sign by the E.
@456jay123 What my teacher had told me, is that in the very original publication, there was no Eb marked at the end, so the accidental followed through; however, one of Chopin's students had a copy of that publication where it looked like Chopin had written in a flat, thus meaning there was a typo in the publication, which indicated that it is an Eb.
Neuhaus, Goldenweiser, Ginzburg, all playing on the same piano, presumably during the same recording session?! Can you tell me more about where these recordings came from?
действительно слиишком медленно. и вообще без эмоций

just saw your last comment about realizing there was no G after F...lol, yeah so you can disregard the above comment. :) Happy playing.

Very straight forward.

@morvensky , seems too much a mechanical performance to me, this piece can be like a wailing blues song!
