all months with an 'R' in them are best. january, febuary, march & april (skip summer) september october november december. in spring will be the lowest tides but uif your serious it worth snorkelling in chest deep water for the larger razorfish beds. here you can 'broadscatter' the salt and pick up many at once.
What time of year is best?? As i have been to beaches and seen dead and empty shells but no holes for live ones?? also, what beach were you at in this video? Karla X
Just a tiny bit of salt directly onto the hole, if there's anything there you'll see significant movement within a few seconds and then it'll pop up within 20-30 seconds.
what does the salt do to them

Can sea-salt be used as oppossed to iodized? Does the coarse of grain matter? Thanks-

@jeovi07 im guessing salt because it tricks it into thinking the tide has come back

Can you use the salt method for Geo-ducks and clams as well?

razor clams in sea are equivalent to earthworms on ground?
pookermit 1 year ago
@pookermit no this method only works for Jackknife clams (shown in the video)

@SeanAxela you'd shatter the shells most of the time. Besides this is much less effort. :-)

@biggingerdude why does the salt affect them if they live in salt water?

I couldn't hear because of the wind. What solution were you using to get the clam to come up like that. Amazing.
Thanks
