im sorry to say this an im a big fan but this one was terriable!! it was nowere near as good as the last. this movie was more pirate romance then pirate life... johnny depp was more sober and well just wasnt him really. big big let down. i couldn't stop looking at my watch cuz it was so boring. in anime terms this movie would be called a filler movie. meaning, it has nothing to do with the accrual plot, but a side story. i would still buy it but i give it 2 swords down......

I disagree with the review. I thought it was ENTIRELY entertaining, and it was REFRESHING to see new characters (who, by the way, performed their roles wonderfully... not perfectly, but by the maker I was enthralled and hoped that the movie would never end). It had great effects, but not NEARLY as much wow and spectacle of the first three movies... but that is OKAY with me. By the second pirates movie, it was all about the spectacle instead of plot, giving me a major headache. This one had plot.

Also, you don't have to agree with her...this is just her personal opinion. Do you stop talking to a friend of yours if they have a different opinion on something than you do?

Second, in MY opinion, the movie was ok. Not great, but not horrible either.

The movie was good but NEVER EVER as good as the 1 one but still a good job.. Keira knight and Orlando bloom would of adding something new to the movie as they always do. Penelope Cruz is okay but did nothing for the movie but her looks for the males who watched to movie. Johnny made the movie and always does! :) I think this lady is annoying and wrong.

I thought McShane was fantastic. I believe he may have upstaged Depp in some scenes. I missed Keira's pretty face and eyes... although Penelope is not bad either.

Personally I think this movie was better than Dead Man's Chest. I also think it was a good thing that Knightly and Bloom were not in this movie. I felt like their romance brought the series down and this story had no real heavy, gooey, romance. This is how a pirate movie should have been. The only real issue I have with this movie is that Ian McShane had to die in the end. I think by now we all know 3D movies are never going to be as good as Avatar. Ever.

I saw this film last night. It was horrible. I almost completely agree with this review. But I feel Johnny Depp couldn't hold it together as much as Betsy said. I feel he lost a lot of his "Keith Richards" behavior that he had in the first one. Penelope Cruz was correct for her sex appeal, Ian McShane added nothing new to the movie other than being that character to hate, Geoffrey Rush did his job well as usual, Betsy was spot on about the story. The movie was just a complete fail.

I kinda disagree with this review, I feel the added elements of this film made it, as well as Johnny Depp. I mean its not the best of the franchise, nothing tops the first movie, but it is still good nonetheless.
