Thanks for the comment. We actually use a mirror as the rear surface of the aquarium, so the reflections are produced in the normal way. Although the illusion of the reflection inside is pretty cool. Thanks again.

That sounds like what I would do. Were you involved with this project and the video? If you look at 7:25, both larger pieces of glass are obviously transparent panes of glass. When the aquarium is presented to the 'victim', it does look like it is reflecting. I wish they included the rest of the steps...

I think one-way glass would have worked a bit better for this. That way you would see the fish when you turn the lights off and be better able to use the mirror even if the tank gets a bit dirty. Pretty cool build though and in general a neat idea.

pretty cool, but i noticed a couple of things.

the mirror look too low. it needs to b higher in the wall.

i would b concerned about throwing together an aquarium like that. leaks could b a dangerous fire hazard with wiring trapped in the wall. i would have spend $200 and have a pro build the glass aquarium.

i like the series, however i think that these decorator types try to hard to look cool on the show. i prefer the classic the old house style of show. just me.

I agree with you about the fish part, although with the beginning part of your comment I'm at odds with you. It was necessary for the plexiglass to be purchased new because it was difficult to find good quality stuff outside of a plastics store. It also needed to be absolutely precisely cut, otherwise you could have serious leak issues.
