  • Ah right thats really interesting, thanks for that. I have been working as a jib assistant & cable basher on a live cooking show on 4 & the one thing i couldent get my head around on talk back was A roll & B roll. thats help alot thanks!

  • Hey great video, im gussing when they que in the A,B & C role its like, A role is the opening graphic B is the VT & C would be the live feed in the case???? As im not too sure what it means. Thanks!

  • @JDMVideographing All studios seem to have a different set-up, but at Sky News there are 4 'playout ports' called A, B, C and D. They're video players that run all the video clips. So "A roll" is an instruction to the Directors Assistant or the Playout Operator to hit the button and roll the clip. So "A roll" is the video in the "coming up" box, "B roll" is the video clip after the animation finishes, "C roll" is the 2nd headline video clip, etc. "VIZ roll" is the animation.
