the change of presentation is a good thing, considering KOTOR II had the exact same presentation (with little diffrences) as KOTOR I, and sequels are suppossed to be diffrent not more of the same thing. KOTOR II seemed more like a huge expansion pack and not a sequel

You're seriously wrong dude, game isn't about graphics, it's about the storyline, characters and the feeling of the game. You should respect the good old 8-bit games like Monkey Island etc... Metal Gear Solid 1 was good despiting the bad quality, altho it was still good when it came out, but this is the new generation, advancing all the time, so... I would say the gameplay, not the graphics, make the game.
Spend the majority of the time talking about choices, then 20seconds talking about combat, or not even 20 actually as we see 5:05-5:20
Here's to hoping this game is as good as it promises to be in the spirit of eternal optimism, and that it will have a fraction of the in-depth combat mechanics that WoW has set the bar at.
Fair enough, but the graphics in The Old Republic are pretty good, not amazingly good like some games, but you know, just good enough to not be botherd much by it.
And beleive me, I love to drool over amazing graphics but its just a tradition for MMO's to have lesser graphics than normal games but to be honest I do hope the graphics will end up like something that was in the trailer ^.-
This is 2009, if they want to win against other game developers and popular titles like AC II, God of War III, etc, they will have to do better than that, we expect better from our HDTVs and PS3s and other HD consoles: we paid good money for it. It'll feel like driving a Ferrari in a traffic jam, and no chicks around to pass the time.

Graphics obviously DO matter. Why else would graphics keep getting better with next-gen consoles? Realism doesn't necessarily matter, but you can't have your game looking like shit and expect to have good sales. Don't say good graphics don't matter. The first thing we usually notice about anything is its appearance.

Metal Gear Solid 1 was good despiting the bad quality, altho it was still good when it came out, but this is the new generation, advancing all the time, so... I would say the gameplay, not the graphics, make the game.

Its true we've seen how Ragnarok Exploded the world market, and starcraft is still being played by loads of koreans and chinese.

Fair enough, but the graphics in The Old Republic are pretty good, not amazingly good like some games, but you know, just good enough to not be botherd much by it.
And beleive me, I love to drool over amazing graphics but its just a tradition for MMO's to have lesser graphics than normal games but to be honest I do hope the graphics will end up like something that was in the trailer ^.-

Yes, graphics do matter.
This is 2009, if they want to win against other game developers and popular titles like AC II, God of War III, etc, they will have to do better than that, we expect better from our HDTVs and PS3s and other HD consoles: we paid good money for it. It'll feel like driving a Ferrari in a traffic jam, and no chicks around to pass the time.
It may depend solely on the title, and the well known lightsabers, but apart from that, tough call: Not in my pre-order list.

Graphics obviously DO matter. Why else would graphics keep getting better with next-gen consoles? Realism doesn't necessarily matter, but you can't have your game looking like shit and expect to have good sales. Don't say good graphics don't matter. The first thing we usually notice about anything is its appearance.

are you all crazy??? you would rather have this on consol? that means you wouldnt be able to play with other people and have them help you out. you wouldnt be able to show what your made of. Its why Kotor was just decent becuase i always felt lonely when i played it. Just me and a bunch of bots...real fun right?
