my grandfather was a Hong Kong Police Officer. i think he was in from 1950s to 1980s.

U guys do very marvellously...except your security uniform!!! And where is the 16 pound rifle 303. Drill is not a drill without it. Even Customs still drill with their own rifle. What the hell is our CP thinking. I still remember our old days in 1981.

This is the police force not military. The old police paramilitary structure is no longer suitable for modern time.

Whatever the police wears and however it marches has nothing to do with how it is organizationally structured. The HK Police still uses old British Army drill commands and movements and the current rank structure is still pretty much based on the old British Army NCO/Officer system so it isn't true at all that they are no longer "paramilitary". To be fair, of all the rifles Commonwealth armies and police forces have done drill with the 303 is still one of the most elegant-looking weapons.

I think you r a bit wrong though, they are still part of paramilitary force so as all disciplinary force branches of HK. Paramilitary is extremely important to places like HK who had small amt of people.
