  • bye bye foxtango2000, welcome ft950, my rig is expected in 15 days and going to experience the whole new technology

  • Great video and wonderful information.

I've been eyeing the FT-950 for some time now. I currently have a couple Kenwoods. A TS-450SAT and a TS-950SAT. The new TS-590S looks wonderful, but is $350 more expensive then the FT-950.

How is the Auto Tuner on FT-950?

  • wonderful Tieln, since I also plan to buy one 950 very useful.

  • Tilen,

I'm glad I ran across your video!! I think you will be saving me some money because I was about to buy the 2000 but think instead I will go with the 950. I appreciate your comments about he roofing filter on the 950. I have used the ft 450 and was very impressed by its receive circuitry. Thanks for the help!! Hope to see you on the bands sometime 73 de AA0DW

  • thank you for the video i am going to buy a ft950.

  • how funny is this? i play guitar myself for nearly 30 years and i build tube amps. and now i start with ham radio.....nice radios you have here

  • I am thinking about buying a FT-950. Thanx for the movie. It helped me out ;-) Think i'm gonna buy me an FT-950

  • what do U think about yaesu ft-450 receiver in contrast of these?

  • Thank you for the comparison between the two radios. I am choosing right now between the two and will probably go for the FT-2000. I look forward to more of your videos! 73 from Melbourne, Australia!!! Craig VK3VCM

  • Excellent overview! Thanks for taking the time to post.

  • Thanks for good info, i owe 1 FT1000MP but i will be going today to buy one new FT950 to so lets see.

    Best regards de HB9EDB / YT3PL / YU1ARC

  • Excellent video...nice comparrison between the two rigs as well!

I am thinking of upgrading my rig to a 950. Glad to hear that the receiver in the 950 is, basically, the same as the receiver in the 2000!

Best to you my friend and, of course...

    '73!

    Thanks!

  • Great comparison video!!

I'm trying to win an ft-950... wish me luck!

  • LA6PHA here, thanks for review of wonderful rigs. 73!

  • I got the FT 950 2 weeks ago very good rig ! 73 de IZPXT

  • Does this use old mechanical relays or does it use pins? tired of seeing so many new radios still using old fashion mechanical relays that are noisy and slow. Good video otherwise.

  • Thank you for this video- I am thinking about this for my next radio- how is the receive performance on AM? Is it as good as the Icom IC-7000?

  • :-P

  • Another option is to get a USED FT-2000 as I did, for same price than a new FT-950 :-)

  • Excellent video. I was doubtful regarding the 950 but this videohelped me in my choice. I can afford a max. 1,500Euros radio and the 950 is on the range. Thanks dude.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I agree with Tilen's comment. I have used the FT-2000 for a couple months and the ProIII doesn't compare.

  • Nonsense! The 'Pro3' is a GREAT radio for the money, as is the FT-2000. The 'Pro3' has great reviews on eHAM.

  • very good !!!

  • Very nice Tilen! THANKS for posting this excellent and interesting comparison! I just purchased the Yaesu FT-450, which is a GREAT compact true IF-DSP transceiver. I like the new Yaesu's a lot, and I am going to be buying either the FT-950 or the Icom IC-756ProIII by this summer (I love them both, especially the bandscope on the 756). I'm also a guitarist mainly into 'neo-flamenco' and 'neo-classical metal' from the Chicago area currently. Best 73!!!

  • Hey, "Sophiegromit"!

There are many musicians between "hams".

Before you are buying the pro3 I suggest to try in person that radio. I was so used to ft-2000

ergonomics, that I was disappointed in pro3 ergonomics and It was to small for me. Otherwise a nice display. There is better rx in ft-2000 and ft-950 (arrl review). Tnx for watching and good luck in guitar pleasure!
