Say suicide is really something "evil". Then I think it's better to talk about "evil things" like suicide instead of proclaiming them as evil so teenagers who have such thoughts begin to suppress them. I doubt that will help a lost teenager nor will it help the god yours.

Well the film/book is about teen age 5 sister in the 1970s who all commit suicide with out warning at the same time (exept for one who kills her self first a year before them) and these neighbor boys that used to admire them from affar are trying to put the pieces together on reasonings why they killed them selves.

The book dosent tell you exactly. See the book is in the perspective of the boys that admired tem from afar. Its about them putting the pieces together from things they saw in the house, and interviews they would give to people about the girls years after their deaths. You know as much as they know and they don't know it all. So all you can go by is speculation of the clues they found.

...But all in all I believe they killed them selves because they felt trapped in their overly protective and overly religious home. They felt like they were sufficating and that they werent ever going to free from its mentality and the way they were raised would haunt them so they killed them selves because they thought it was the only way out and thought they fulfilled their short lives already. They saw no other purpose in life.

Read the book it explains a bit more and gives you more reasons but it dosent really tell you exatcly why. I believe its because they never really expirienced life being locked up and on a leash all the time. Since they never really expirienced life and they went to atleast prom they found their life somewhat more complete, so on the aniverersary of the first attempt of Cecelia's suicide they all killed them selfs as a sortof omage(sp) to their sister.

well in lakewood new jersey the same thing happend the found the same stuff in the water . but due to that most kids were getting brain cancer and alot of people were becoming manic depressives so i think it had ome thing to do withy their mental health.
