Did a cruise of the Gulf of Mexico right as I found this gem....will forever remember that time with this song...one of the "Good in Life" moments. thanks JA!!!!!!!!!!!
To MiddSouthFootball09----I agree it's a beauty. I first bought this when released to heal my wounds of him leaving Yes a year or so earlier. It worked. Drama was a good [harder] Yes, and Jon was still doing his more feminine music. It was great. Now, in 2011, I love it even more. This was a great undone Yes song, and so decent it didn't need Yes to arrange it. Jon did fine on his own.
i listened ot this on my spotify 10 minutes prior to the page i am nothing with out Jon Andersons' vocals are tenor-iffic. Thank you from a tenor to another winner :)
1981 out of high school and just into Navy Bootcamp in Orlando, Florida. This was the first cassette I put into my walkman when I got out and we didn't have to wear uniforms all the time. I was still in my youth and found me a swingset on base. I played this whole cassette as I swang. I rememeber the peace and freedom I felt swinging back and forth as an 18 year old. This song, this whole album will always be remembered for that moment in time of my life.
This to me encapsulates life, love and the spiritual realm. I may be sad but I have listened to this song and the Album 100's of times over the last 31 years as I feel it is pivotal to who I am and what I represent in life .
I met John Anderson last year outside the Sage in Gateshead and he signed my vinyl copy of this Album. He was so gracious and such an unsual man.
This is one of my favorite records in my collection, but it's been more than 20 years since I don't have a record player and I miss all that music...thank you for sharing.
bought the LP when it first came out. Was in our local shops and just like the cover so bought it and that was my introduction to him and now enjoy his music and saw him in the local theatre last year
Jon Anderson is so "down to earth" as he is on Song of 7, and used to talk to fans who gathered outside his solo shows for extended periods. Yet he helps bring us, along with Chris Squire especially, (listen to "Lucky 7" from Fish Out Of Water by him), the big picture intensity of Yes, with Tales from Topographic Oceans, Close to the Edge, just the lyrics to Perpetual Change are enough to impress. What balance he has!
For those who like Song/7 I recommend "Angkor Wot", a great song, not disc
How com I've never heard of this song before??? It's amazing, one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard in my entire life. I adore the song and jon's voice.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. Apparently, it's not available to be viewed due to WMG Licensing laws ): so not a whole lot of people can see this tremendous song, I'm pretty sure! Had to post the proper version up; got tired of waiting for other people to do it!
@MiddSouthFootball09 I tried uploading this several times. This version works for me, at least for now. "Haven't you imagination, or is there none available?"
I really wanna do a Jon Anderson tribute recording for this one...it is so very moving.Forget the length of the song. The feeling could take you for eons. Thanks for posting this. One of my most favorite albums of all times.
thank you to post it can post Hear it too please

Gracias,
Met me a stranger, he came here to town
Bearing gifts full of promises, discoveries of light
Said me many reasons why my merry tale
Could be justified....
